Recruiting Football Talk VIII

The fact that you care more about how entertaining a game is for yourself more than justice and fairness says a lot about you.
Do you think that every athlete at each school should be paid the same amount? Is it fair and just that the goal keeper on UT’s women soccer team gets paid less than Nico??? Is that just? Is that fair???

I am not bashing CJH. I hope he is here and succeeds for years to come.

It is fair to look at weak spots in an organization after a season. Baseball and basketball have been near the top of their sports for several years. Football isn’t quite there yet as they have yet to seriously compete for a conference title.
Comparing a football program to baseball or basketball is like comparing F1 to Trans Am. Sure they are both doing great, but lessons learned in one may not apply like you think.

Lol all the people who were making billions of dollars while the athletes made zero dollars agree with you. Fortunately the supreme Court says there's no such thing.
I'll admit it. I prefer, from a fan point of view, for college to be Amateur and the Pros to be, well, the Pros. But that genie escaped the bottle. Always wanted them to be compensated but not this wild wild west approach.

The question remains who is to play the role of the just judge and popo. The NCAA is crooked. We can’t rely on the conferences. The time the NCAA appointed a “neutral” outside committee, (favorite) Kansas basketball walked scot-free when the evidence that Adidas was paying KU’s players as part of a shoe deal was piled high and much of it public. I think that is also when whatshisname at LSU walked, too. The FBeye had the goods in both investigations. Phone recordings in the latter case. Although after what we now know about about that organization… They have the goods on the Michigan football interstate computer crimes, too, if press reports are to be believed; but that whole thing has been suppressed by the NCAA and the media alike. It’s a quandary.

Portal talk aside (appreciate the info you guys bring by the way).

What about staff changes going forward? Does Banks stay? If not, does Inge get promoted from within? Is Martinez still retiring? If so, who might be a target to replace him? Any changes to the Offensive side of the ball? OC? OL? When might we know?

TIA
I think Banks stays if not, it won’t be Inge. Ekler needs to be renewed. I’d like to see Chop take that spot personally.

I don’t know the answer on offense. Some things need to change for sure even if not personnel.

Like cam newton said…don’t complain about someone trying to get paid…it is what it is..if they want to be paid treat them like professionals and put it in a contract binding them to the money that’s being paid…either they pay a % back or they can’t leave…it will stop all of this **** 💩 or at least slow it down some
Oh to go back to the days when 200k to a prospect’s parent’s church would seal the deal.

Some of yall need to grow a dang pair and stop whining. Good Lord almighty- I’m sorry there is a little bit of difficulty in the college football program that you root for. You complain that you’ll need to “take a step back” because of a 20 year old’s life decision. They’re the ones out there practicing and devoting their life to football- and you’re losing your mind over some dang transfers.

That’s not the Volunteer Spirit. Tennessee folks are different because they don’t give up with things look down- hell- they join the dang fight when it doesn’t look winnable. Get off your phone and go for a long run or lift some weights. Go for a walk. Kiss your wife and kids. Do something hard in your life and then cheer on the boys when they take Shield Watkins again in the fall.

But for goodness sakes, grow a pair and quit your dang whining.
Developing emotional maturity is very difficult for some. I can personally speak from experience. Lol. But it can happen if ppl work at it.
