You’d think Nico could persuade these guys or they’d want to play with his talent. That’s pretty concerning.

I don’t see how it’s concerning. We lost backup WRs besides Squirrel (who everyone complained about all season). The younger WRs folks wanted to play will now play.

Man, I was so excited when NIL was implemented. It was a long time coming. Now, with what CFB has become, I freaking hate it. I don't really blame anyone. It's simply that the game is changed forever and will never be the same. That makes me sad.

It’s fine to me that the players get to advertise, make some coin, etc.

The problem is NIL + Portal coming in at the same time, both completely unregulated. Throw some guardrails on it and college sports can still be saved.

For now, it’s the most wide open free market that exists. Without regulations in place, it’s headed for a bubble that will burst eventually. To be honest, that might be the best thing.

at this rate, and with the spring portal where more of our players could leave, we'll struggle to win 6. Clearly we don't have any money or don't want to spend it on the portal to replace what we lost, so we'll ride with a young, inexperienced team going against heavy NIL experienced teams. Cool. Pop-Tart bowl here we come!!!

The same as when you said there was NO WAY OR ROUTE for us to even merely compete with Alabama...boy how that worked out

There is zero chance that Nico went to Oregon and Miami and it didn't get out on social media.

I can see him and his dad having a discussion though. Getting hurt is always a possibility but if you have the talent he does you don't want to increase the chances.

NIL has little to do with it. It's unlimited portal transfers enacted last Summer.

If NIL wasn't even a thing and the portal was wide open...you'd have the exact same thing happening, just old school payments under the table.

But if you have legal payments with reasonable freedom of movement standards (preferrably based on contracts), rather than the unlimited portal, then you'd have....the same structure every major sport has already figured out is the best one.

Skull always walked his Poodle around town in Hee Haw overalls. The Poodle had a diamond studded collar and leash. He was a legend no doubt. Boots Randolph had a place down there as well and there was another strip club called the Red Door Lounge. It was SHADY to say the least. Right across from the ALLEY was a restaurant called The Captains Table and at one time it was one of the fanciest places in Nashville. Back then Lower Broad and 2nd Ave. was nothing but Peep Shows and empty warehouses, things have changed a lot in 50 years to say the least.

So…rumor has it Nico and his dad met with Heupel yesterday to discuss the OL and WR as they both aren’t happy with it (both being nico and his dad). Also, apparently Nico visited Miami and Oregon during the season

So do we take from this that they are happy with what they were told about both position groups??

FWIW MK had better numbers receiving than Fant did. Fant was a beast in that FB role though.

Offensive line and wide receivers have regressed the last two seasons. Heupel is in an echo chamber with his offensive staff. Elarbee, Halzle and Pope are not upper echelon coaches and Heupel needs to upgrade his offensive staff, however he won’t. “Friends will get you fired”.

Nico the Cat entertained offers of increased daily tuna from the neighbors during the season. Made double-secret visits to taste the tuna varieties. Ultimately, he felt staying home was the best option despite not being entirely happy with the quality of litter in the litter box. Nico plans on having detailed discussions with @smokeyhuntsgators on the frequency of litter box cleanouts as well.
