Recruiting Football Talk VIII

What groups were better when they replaced their lead singer (in the eyes of fans).
Fleetwood Mac has to be tops.

But Genesis and Floyd also come to mind.

Funny thing to me is Syd is the one that really ingrained the beautiful, genius madness into Floyd. The rest ran with it (extremely well).

This freak out is harming us. The teams that we recruit against collect them. I wouldn’t be surprised if the instigate some of the dumbest ones. Nothing I can do about it.
I think there is a subsection of our fanbase that, consciously or not, kind of enjoys turmoil in the program.

Rucker is correct here

I’ve talked to numerous college football fans on my Christmas break who agree something’s broken and they don’t want to be stuck watching another pro sport

The question is what that means to them.

What we are seeing right now is not college nor pro, it's not a system any organization has ever wished for.

If they mean watching a sport of unpaid athletes...well that hasn't existed in decades.

If they mean they don't want unlimited free movement of talent, I'm not sure that's ever even existed.

I would think the balance of the pro sport structure is the goal at this point, especially for fans. Keep the player for 3-5 years and pay accordingly. Imagine the payments are under the table and it's basically CFB anytime before 2015.

Time to create some fake UGA, Alabama, Ole Miss, etc accounts and start spreading some stuff. I can easily photoshop DMs from former and current players with gripes about their NIL. No reason why we can't light some fires...

I pray we bring back pre snap movement. Literally Boo, Branch & Lewis run a 4.2-4.3.
Idk why we went away from it altogether. People say we went away from some calls because "they take too long to develop," but pre-snap motion has nothing to do with that. Makes no sense.

It must have been due to the fact that all our wide receivers were so dominant in beating defenders off the line of scrimmage that putting them in motion wasn't deemed necessary.
