Recruiting Football Talk VIII

It's the Quatix 7 marine. They have one that is solar but it's ridiculously expensive.
Had a Fenix 5 for a while. They just dropped the Fenix 7 and Epix Gen 2 price due to the Fenix 8 coming out, so I got the Epix G2 (it's a Fenix 7 with AMOLED). Fenix 7 solar is available for $425 and the Epix was $499 for Sapphire/Titanium.

I don't understand the commissioner talk at all. The NCAA is collectively the commissioner. We already have an entity filling that role. Why would we need an individual, regardless of his qualifications or biases, to do what the NCAA's job is to do? If we're done with the NCAA, let's overhaul the whole thing instead of just plugging in a new figurehead.
I wouldn't say they fill the same roles.

The NCAA is only there to enforce the rules as set by its member universities across 100s of members, at varying levels.

A commissioner can oversee the entire sport and it's overall health, as all pro commissioners do (or even as conference commissioners do in college sports).

The issue is league commissioners are controlling everything right now, to the detriment of the overall sport and other conferences. Imagine the NFL commish saying, "sure let teams move and have the AFC North be a behemoth with 8 of the best teams...and the AFC South can live 2 teams...their fans will probably just die off and stop caring, not my problem as long as the AFC North makes MORE MONEY".

Now, you could certainly have NCAA 2.0 to accomplish this (having a commissioner). No difference, but a new name would be cool 🤣

So a coach that used us for a raise (twice), a coach that left us for another school (right before signing day and started our multi-year misery) and a former coach of our in-state rival wants our BIGGEST RIVAL'S, former head coach and one of the whiningest, cheatingest, and shadiest pieces of crap on the planet, and the one I consider to be responsible for the current shape of college football, to become the commissioner of all of college football??? For TENNESSEE and most anyone not named alabama, this is the worst idea ever. The 🤡🤡🤡 need to shut up. It can't be anyone still associated with a university. Look what happened with the CFP Committee this year. This would be way worse than the SEC Headquarters being 45 minutes from bama's campus. It's an awful idea and shouldn't happen, which means it probably will. Terrible, just terrible. 🫤
I agree. It’s bad enough having the SEC front office in Birmingham, having the NCAA commissioner living in Tuscaloosa with ties to Bama would be awful.

Will we all cry if Banks goes to Miami? (Only assuming he’s in this article)

Would be pretty devastating with the monster he's built on that side of the ball.

We would really be rebuilding at that point. Would have to hope we can land another homerun and even then it might take a couple years (just as Nico is entering his vet phase and as GM, BF come on board offensively).

Hope we fight like hell to keep our good coaches. Never know what's around the corner with a new face...takes time...Golesh leaving and his replacement comes to mind.

Didn't Saban quit because of NIL?!?

And 1 year later, we've got coaches throwing his name out to "get control" of this thing?

Saban needs to either stay on ESPN GameDay or him and Ms Terry retire to the shadows. I vote for the latter, I've had enough of the little prick.

Those used to be even better a few years back when they were strictly coin-op. Totally cash business. Not that I'm encouraging dishonest accounting or anything.

I too have watched breaking bad.

Edit: Something I found funny on them was Shaq owning a lot of them. At least 3-4 have opened within 2 miles of my house in the past 2 years and there were already multiple car washes nearby. They’re always busy so I’ve always thought they were a good business.

I think the Quantix 7 Solar Marine addition is around $1100. Crazy money. You can do a lot with that watch from a marine perspective though.

Garmin's best is always in that $1k range, but they go to about half that when the new model drops. If you can be patient to wait and time it right, you can get great tech for less insane money.

lol that's true, forgot about that! That was different though, the one in BB was a full service wash.

Actually, I have a friend that had one in Orange County for many years and used to sing its praises. Years ago it was coin-op only so all revenues were collected from coin bins or bill changers which made reporting fuzzy at best.

Those old cash-only, money-in-slot parking lots were similar in that regard.

I have a dog that is a food snob. He'll turn his nose up at almost anything you offer him. . . until. . . I go to give the same thing to my other dog. Then he acts like it came out of a 5* restaurant and has to have some too.
Thats hilarious, and plays towards a weird competitive quirk that humans also have. As soon as someone/something else wants something it has value.

I was buying some outdoor equipment last week at a hardware store. Dude said, "Man, I have a whole tote FULL of those things. All rusted. Haven't touched them in decades." Me: "You want to sell them to me?" Him: *long pause* "Uhh.... hmm... uh.... no I guess not.... I think I'll hold onto them a little longer..." *awkward walk off* me: "Okay man Merry Christmas!"

As soon as I wanted them suddenly he wanted to keep them and use them🤣

Is it to late to see if Venables wants to quit playing HC and do his real job as a DC at TN?

Banks defense was better then Venables this year in ypg, pass ypg, rush ypg, and defensive ppg despite Venables having the 7th most talented roster in team composite rankings and Vols having 17th.
