Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If Banks leaves I would not be surprised to see Heupel just promote Inge to DC.

Was Co-DC at Washington
Co-DC at Indiana
DC for Buffalo one season

One less guy on the staff makes it easier to find a spot for Chop.
I’m pretty sure AP has said more than once he wouldn’t expect Inge to be the guy if Banks left.

We’ve had our own player families openly tweet at us to basically calm down and STFU. That should tell you something about what it’s like to coach here.
That happens at every program where the fans give two $&¡7s. We are far from the first fanbase to call for coaches to be fired. OSU wanted Day gone 2 weeks ago to the point several of them didn’t even show up to the first college playoff game in Columbus.

I'm not worried about Banks.

Flame the **** out of me again if you want to. I don't think "good defense when defensive line plays good, bad defense when defensive line plays bad" is some unbelievable bar in the defensive coordinator market.

In four years I can't think of one game the defense as a whole seemed to grade out better than the Dline unit. Yes, I know winning up front is critical. But it's actually not impossible for the backend to hold up when the QB has time, and I don't know if we've seen that once with our former DB coach defensive coordinator.

Nonetheless, I'm in the minority with this opinion, so I'm surprised he's looking at lateral moves and not a lower level HC job.

Lanning has lost his creativity. Multiple coaches need to be fired. Talent gap was exposed on a national stage. Humiliation. Team will never recover. Oregon NIL is stealing money from their fans. Fans have a right to be pissed and should boycott their own team’s NIL and organize a fan no-show home game. Oregon is doomed to return to its days of mediocrity and obscurity. All their players think about is money. Lanning is not the guy. School should drop football. Baseball school is their only hope. College football is dead.
Am I doing this right?

“Hey OSU fans are stupid too so we should feel free to be stupid!!”

I think one of our insiders (@king) addressed this already and it’s not the plan.
Forgive me I got the wrong insider🙏🏻

Ohio State fans wanted to fire a coach thats won 90% of his games and is a shanked FG away, Bad fumble call from two national championships plus coached in a 3rd… now on their way to a national championship.
Bammers tweeted about Saban and yelled and raged when they lost to Clemson twice in the national championship.
Miami fans want to fire Cristobal who’s got them back to winning 10 games for the 2nd time in 20 years.
LSU fans are done with Brian Kelly and have raged tweeted about that as well
Dawg fans have vented about their coordinators on Twitter repeatedly over the last few years.
This is the life of being a Big time program. Either embrace the expectations or get the hell outta here. Go to the sun belt

Wow, didn’t see the Texas game that missed targeting call before OT screwed Arizona State

At least all the national TV guys got it right saying ASU was robbed on that blatant targeting flag they picked up with 50 something seconds left in the game...on 3rd down. ASU should have had a 1st down at the TX 40yd line with like 56 seconds left and 1 timeout.

I am sure its little consolation to the ASU fans...but at least they know everyone outside of texas knows they got robbed on that call. Probably 80% chance or better ASU kicks a game winning FG if they don't pick up the flag. They had no answer for Skattebo all day, and momentum was strongly in ASUs favor too...texas had just missed their 2nd FG in a row

I don't care if we lose Banks, I just don't like the optics being presented as if these jobs are better than Tennessee. The ACC is a weak-ass wannabe conference. In no way is going from the SEC to the ACC a "step up". It's a step back.
