Right or wrong, public criticism for jobs like this is par for the course, and a person finds that out real quick if they didn’t already know going into the job.Again, the underlying point being that just because something is done commonly, and passionately, doesn't make it productive.
And again, the underlying discussion was about things that could make a coach take a lateral position move. Not your opinions about how things that you have never experienced may affect someone else.
Outside of threats, I would imagine anyone that has been in the college football game any time at all realizes It is really no worse here than at any other big time football program in the country. These jobs are well-compensated, and the fans that drive the market have every right to make their voices heard within reason.
If there is no threat or personal or racial attacks, public criticism about public job performance is not abuse. That is not opinion, that is fact. And to my knowledge, nothing that would constitute abuse has been directed toward this coach.
However, I guess there may have been foolish threats, racial epitaphs, or other things that have not been made public. So I guess I do not know what all this coach has been through exactly, just like you don’t know me or what I may never have experienced.
I can see you enjoy a good debate, even if it sometimes seems like you are just throwing stuff out there and fishing for it. And like I said, I do like a good free expression vs snowflakes debate myself. But again, I am going to have to sit this one out.
