Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Sally is progressing.

A tech called "Shot Spotter" listens to sounds in an area, like a city, and identifies gunshots and their precise location. . . even the type (caliber) of gun probably used. It alerts the PD immediately. Sometimes cops get to the scene before 911 calls are even made.

Pretty soon Sally will be predicting future crimes. I may be in the minority thinking this, but it's a good report.
There's a town in FL somewhere that has or had a sheriff who had some computer system that basically predicted crimes or at least potential criminals and they admittedly targeted and harassed every person that system flagged and their entire families until they moved out of town. They'd show up 3am waking everyone up to issue a citation for the grass being too tall and stuff like that. It's wild.

Everybody loses their last game except one team
Riveting information. If we had more creativity along with our defense we probably would have gotten a better seed/ home game instead of walking into the buzz saw we did. Maybe even if we hadn’t of lost to the fighting Pittmans. It’s ok to want more, some like to settle for mediocrity though I guess.

Is 10-3 mediocrity though?

Making the playoffs is not "mediocrity"

I don’t think a FG can bounce through under NCAA rules. AI thinks it can (and I’m just a guy), but the rule says the kick is no good when it touches the ground. If blocked, it comes a scrimmage kick—basically a punt. The NFL might allow a bouncer to count, but not the NCAA.
AI thinks you mean if it bounces off the upright or cross bar. It doesn't do nuance well yet.

Some have different definitions of “mediocrity.” We can start there.

Wall-E
Star Wars
Transformers: Decepticons hate your guts

Wall-E: humans got so reliant on robots and AI on the space crafts, that they became obese, lazy, and looked at screens all day (sound familiar)

Star Wars: R2D2 and C3PO had their moments but these guys were the worst.....giphy-516385725.gif
