Recruiting Football Talk VIII

The idea of rev sharing evenly with one sport that brings in 100 million and the other sport loses 2-5 million a year and gets bailed out by the 100 million a year sport is interesting to say the least
I like to think of it as my job brings in all the money and I share that revenue with my hobbies. The hobbies often cost me more money than they bring in, but without them my life would be pretty plain...

The NCAA honestly can't do much if someone chooses not to listen.

We're gonna get into some real whacky world if stuff like this happens.

The NCAA COULD say "yeah, go ahead and play, but we will register the contest as an exhibition and the opponent will not be penalized for forfeiting the game or losing.

Of course they do. That doesn't mean they are always right. Look at the players they recruited out of HS and have hit the portal. Not every evaluation hits. The coaches will do whatever they do but acting like they're infallible is silly. It's okay to have opinions, and it's okay to be wrong.
They are right way, way more often than any fan. They have more insights, evidence to draw from, more experience. But they are make decisions that are dependent on incomplete information. And at other times they flat out make wrong decisions. But in aggregate they will be right much more often. But yeah, let's focus on the fact that they are not always right as an acceptable justification for why the opinions of ill-informed fans should carry some sort of clout and not be called out for what they are.

Middle of the season transfers are around the corner…..play vs XYZ State one week, play for XYZ State the next week
Thats crazy if this will actually be allowed. You can’t even swap schools in the middle of a semester. The new school won’t enroll you til the following semester starts. It would be crazy if they make an exception for athletes.

Man, the Thunder might become the Dodgers of the NBA.

Shai is 26
IHart is 26
Wiggins is 26
Dort is 25
Joe is 25
JDub is 23
Chet is 22
Wallace is 21

Then they have 15 first round draft picks between now and 2031. I mean, ****.
Their depth is insane. There’s been many times when I watch a game of theirs where when it’s time for starters to take a breather for both teams, their backups just dominate the other team and compound the lead to where it makes the game so out of hand the other team’s can’t even make it a game when the starters get back in.

We didn't set woods on fire sure but we were not below average. Had our QB's hit half of the over throws no body would be questioning Pope. He is a good teacher on practice field injuries really hurt us this year and yes some of depth just didn't develop like coaches hoped. It happens. In CHRIST Alone
And if the WR's didn't drop absolute dimes in their hands ...... same could be said. Goes both ways. Pope is not a good developer. No one since Jalin has developed at all. Bru got worse, followed by the rest. Might I add who recruited all the kids that just bailed on him ? His recruiting profile is also in question. May be a great guy but he hasn't done a single damn thing to say he is good coach

I was almost 5 and remember watching this game with my mom and dad like it was yesterday.
We had burgers and lemon-ice-box pie.

The Cowboys struck first when Roger Staubach zeroed in on Drew Pearson for a 29-yard touchdown pass.

Before the end of the quarter, Pittsburgh evened the score on a seven-yard pass from Terry Bradshaw to tight end Randy Grossman. Setting up the score was a 32-yard pass to Lynn Swann, whose health was questionable because of a concussion he had suffered in the AFC Championship Game. Swann out-leaped a Dallas defender, then magically kept both feet inside the sideline to make his catch.
Dallas reclaimed the lead at 10-7 only 15 seconds into the second quarter when Toni Fritsch booted a 36-yard field goal.

Defense continued to dominate in the scoreless third quarter. Pittsburgh sacked Staubach seven times during the game and forced him to scramble on numerous occasions. Moreover, they pressured him into an uncharacteristic 3 interceptions.

One of the interceptions set up another field-goal try by Gerela, but he pulled it left from 33 yards. Dallas safety Cliff Harris mockingly patted him on the helmet, only to be unceremoniously dumped on his hip pads by irate Pittsburgh linebacker Jack Lambert. The inspired Steelers dominated after that.

In the fourth quarter, Steelers reserve fullback Reggie Harrison blocked Mitch Hoopes's punt. The ball rolled through the end zone for a safety to cut the Cowboys' lead to 10-9. Gerela, who'd donned a corset to protect his ribs, regained his kicking touch with field goals of 36 and 18 yards to put the Steelers in front 15-10.

With 3:02 left in the game, Bradshaw lofted a long pass to game MVP Swann, who caught the ball at the five and took it over the goal line to complete a 64-yard lightning strike. Swann finished the day with 161 yards on four catches, a 40.3 average-per-catch. Gerela missed the extra point.

It took Staubach only 1:14 to get the touchdown back, completing a drive with a 34-yard bulls-eye to Percy Howard—former Austin Peay State University basketball player---- the only pass Howard caught during his entire career.

Terry Hanratty replaced Bradshaw, still woozy from the hit suffered after his touchdown pass to Swann, but the Steelers were stalled on a fourth-and-9 at the Dallas 41 with almost a minute and a half to go. Coach Noll feared a blocked kick and called for a Rocky Bleier run that gained only 2 yards. Noll was gambling that his defense could stop the Cowboys.

Trailing only 21-17, Staubach had the ball back with more time than he usually needed to negotiate 61 yards. The Cowboys reached Pittsburgh's 38. With five seconds left, Staubach launched his final pass into the end zone. Steelers Mike Wagner batted the ball, which was caught by the Steelers, Glen Edwards and the Steelers had their second consecutive Super Bowl victory.

@OGbabyaviVol Since we wound up on the subject. What do you recommend feeding a big dog? She loves to run.
Regular dog food
Mix in a supplement for dogs (they have for protein, etc…different kinds)
Then you can put in some actual meat like chicken, beef, livers, chicken heart, chicken feet, etc.

I use to breed Corso’s. Still train dogs everyday. Also depends on the dog as well.

If you’re wanting something simple, just boil some chicken and add that to their meal everyday.

Here’s a champion I use to train. Meet Creed.

Bru got worse because of injuries not development

Not mine. I wish. I just trained him and helped breed the owners other corso’s. Had like 4-5 adults plus puppies at all times.

Forgot the other 2.

The family offered a puppy to me for free from his litter, but I already have enough pets.

Thinking about it, I should’ve taken the puppy. She sells them for $3000-$4000 a pop lol
