Recruiting Football Talk VIII

It’s bcuz you use idiotic (arguments to validate your idiotic opinions. Your validation for AD having 1 winning without Lebron was Lebron was in a weak east? Uh ok

Pistons were elite when bron got in the league, heat had Shaq and Wade, Celtics were elite by year 3, Orlando had also went on a really good run of winning 60 games a year. You use Leonard with the raptors you realize him winning the finals means he beat the best west team, right?

Well most of LeBron's finals trips came with two other Hall of Famers on the team with him. I'm sure if you gave AD guys like Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, and Love that he too would have made it out of the East. The only two years LeBron made the Finals without a loaded roster was 2007 and 2018. Just like Jimmy Butler made 2 NBA Finals without a loaded roster. I'm sure if Jimmy Butler could do it so could AD.

Except he couldn’t. He could barely even have a winning record in 7 tries. His best season he got swept in the 2nd round and that’s with having a really good roster

You must have a lot of time on your hands to watch hundred of thousands of hours of game film. I hope you get paid for that

No. But I did grow up watching almost every playoff game. And to me there's not a better judge of how good or not good a player is than the playoffs. It's why I usually wait until the playoffs to truly rate guys in the NBA. With the NFL and college there's a limited sample size so I tend to watch the big games every Saturday and Sunday.

AD played in the tough western conference. A conference that LeBron himself failed to make the playoffs in during his first season. I don't think it's an indictment of AD that he couldn't overcome the odds of such a weak supporting cast to advance in the West. Just think who his best teammate was before LeBron. AD truly played by himself and even LeBron couldn't win by himself in the West.

But yet… you said AD was the best player on the lakers championship while also saying bron was better in the finals. Alright

You mean the season him and Ingram played less than 60 games? Of course they missed the playoffs

You mean the same NBA that passed on Jokic for the entire first round in the 2014 draft? Citing what NBA teams would do isn't a good argument considering how many mistakes they make.

If Jokic is better than AD surely he should be able to advance further in the playoffs this year than AD on the Mavs? You just told me AD has never won anything without LeBron. So if he wins the West with Kyrie then what would you say?

Jokic is better than AD today...AD's one championship season from 6 years ago or where each was drafted to start their careers hasn't got a damn thing to do with that.

He's got 3 championships. But all 3 were with super teams where he should have won. And his failures in 2011 and 2014 with the Heat are finals losses I personally don't see Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant having. Kobe in 2008 beat the Spurs coming off a championship coming with just Pau Gasol. If he has D-Wade and Bosh I don't see him losing to an older Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, and young Kawhi. Plus we all know 2011 is the most inexcusable loss by a superstar in NBA history.

Lol, despite using the "best stats" website around you don't even know that Lebron has won 4 championships?

Also considering Cleveland drafted Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love was in the nose dive of his career I'd hardly count the 2015-16 Cavs as a Super team.

You don’t think love averaging 8 and 6 on 25 minutes in the finals is superstar level? 🤣

No. AD was better all playoffs especially against the Western conference teams that had them down early in those series. The Heat were overmatched so it allowed Bron to stat pad his way to Finals MVP. So don't put words in my mouth. I never said Bron was better. Bron just put up better stats for one round. For the entire playoffs and regular season AD was the better player.

Jokic would dominante every player in NBA history based on analytics even Michael Jordan. He's the greatest statistical player in NBA history according to the advanced stats. It's why I don't use stats as the barometer for judging players. It would lead you to silly conclusions like Jokic being better than Jordan.

I only did that statistical comparison for the ignorant LeBron fans who are enamored by his stats when it benefits him but then ignore his stats when others are better.

So does the fact that Denver having just 2 losing seasons since drafting Jokic, winning the only title in team history and making 2 conference Finals behind Jokic not mean anything?

You literally said “until lebron outplayed him in the finals” you also used stats for your reason AD was better that year…

On the morning of February 4, 1974, a 19-year-old college student named Patty Hearst was kidnapped from her apartment in Berkeley, California by a group of armed men and women. This group of radical anarchist and extremist men and women from different walks of life called themselves the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). The SLA was attempting to instigate a guerrilla war against the U.S. government and had already shot two Oakland school officials, killing one and wounding the other.

The SLA knew that Hearst was from a wealthy, powerful family, and sure enough, the kidnapping made front-page national news and captured the interest of the American people.

The SLA began releasing audiotapes demanding money and food in exchange for Hearst’s release. In April 1974, the SLA released a tape in which Hearst claimed to have joined the SLA’s fight against the U.S. government herself. Days later, Hearst was caught on camera participating in a bank robbery with the SLA.

Hearst and other SLA members went into hiding and were on the run until September 18, 1975, when FBI agents caught up with Hearst. She was charged with bank robbery along with other crimes and was found guilty and sentenced to seven years in prison. President Carter commuted Hearst’s sentence after two years, and she was later pardoned.

OKC with Durant, Harden, and Russ were a super team despite all 3 being drafted by the team. I don't define superteams by how they are constructed. I define it based on the talent level on the team.

With regard to Kevin Love. In the season immediately preceding joining the Cavs he averaged 26.1 PPG and 12.5 RPG while being named 2nd team All-NBA. He was widely regarded as the best PF in the game and had some arguing he was a top 5 player in the league. Remember the Cavs had to trade #1 pick Andrew Wiggins to land Kevin Love. And Wiggins in 2014 was considered the best draft prospect since LeBron.

To say Kevin Love was in a nose dive is an absolute lie. He was considered a superstar when he arrived in Cleveland. Blame LeBron for turning him into a role player. He did it with Bosh in Miami. And then Love in Cleveland.
