I think it just seems like that is the most likely answer. I'm too the point where I'd rather them just go when they look at the portal. There needs to be 1 portal window and when you enter the portal you can't go back,

Now lets be fair...he's saying he plans to enter the transfer portal. That's not the same thing as him transferring.

1. entering the portal doesn't mean you're leaving, we've had plenty of guys do it and decide to stay
2. if he enters the portal now he'd be sitting out next season, he has to wait for the spring window so lots can change between now and then

I think this is his camp trying to get him more $$$, why it needs to be made public, not sure. Maybe staff called his bluff, the good news for us would be knowing this now he can be shifted out of the starting lineup during spring camp and other guys worked ahead of him in preparation.
