I agree, but he was put in a tough spot because he was asked directly by a reporter about it today. His options are 1) to be up front about it, 2) lie about it, or 3) refuse to answer, give an evasive answer or a non-denial denial, which makes it an even bigger story.

For all we know NC State was probably OK with all of this being announced once McNeese's season is over, but someone probably leaked it and he was directly asked if he had talked to NC State.

The best answer is, “I will always consider opportunities that will benefit my family and me. But I’m focused on my team right now and preparing to win.” It’s always been the correct way to approach it.

We’ve had coaches decide later not to take a job because it was leaked. It can be kept suppressed quite a bit if he just told them he wasn’t talking terms until afterward.

I didn’t see what he said. But I’m just not sure if he made it known to keep it sealed. Danny White knows how to keep things quiet until maybe the day of. I would have been adamant that I’m not talking until after my last game.

HS WR’s Pope recruited and signed:
‘23 4 star Nathan Leacock (1 catch 13 yards)
‘23 3 star Nate Spillman (no career stats)
‘24 5 star Mike Matthews ( 7 catches 90 yards 2 td’s)
‘24 4 star Braylon Stayley ( 3 catches 21 yards)

Kodi Burns mostly recruited the ‘22 guys, which they regressed each year anyway.

Our transfer WR’s never made significant leaps either. Bru gets the benefit of a doubt with his injury, Thornton had potential but couldn’t stay healthy

Pope has proven he can’t recruit or develop. I think we need to get rid of him asap

First time I’ve ever seen a volunteer fan want a pencil neck city slicker👀😭🤣🤣🤣 worlds ending🤣🤣 but I wish they would..I know they won’t but none of it happened under Danny and shouldn’t hold that against him if Bruce ever makes it into the interview room.deep down we all probably wouldn’t mind having Bruce back.
