Recruiting Football Talk VIII

My parents both were gone to work before I left for school so I smoked for about a half hour, smoked on the way to pick up a friend, we smoked for a few minutes before we left his house, smoked the rest of the way to school, smoked in the parking lot for 15 or 20 minutes. Then I gave another friend a ride to work during lunch (he took shop and worked the rest of the day) which gave me another half hour or so to get stoned. Then me and about 6 of my friends would cram into my car and go to this storage room behind my closet, which looked straight out of the 60s, and get stoned for about 2 hours before my parents got home. Later that night, I would go to a friends house where our rock group practiced, get stoned for a 2 or 3 hours and attempt to practice during that time. Then I would get stoned on my roof after my parents went to bed.
I went to the first showing of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" in my hometown during my senior year of high school. When Spicoli stumbles out of his van in the high school parking lot covered in a vast smog like half the audience yelled out my name because that's exactly what my car looked like every morning in my high school parking lot.
I will clarify that the half ounce a day was limited to my sophomore year until the year after I graduated. Probably averaged a quarter ounce or less before then but I was smoking 2-3 packs of cigs starting in junior high.
I still think you are greatly exaggerating. Believe it or not there are intuitive people on this board, and you are embarrassing yourself in front of us. I enjoyed the story though.

It blows my mind , knowing what we do today, that anyone starts smoking
Why, the arrogance on the roadways that claim so much AT SPEED is worse. Those facts are out there too. 5 year loss of license for speeding would save lots of lives. Zero tolerance for others deaths due to speed, 20 years. Those would probably be supported by 2% of the voters.

Bama has lost a couple commits over the past week. And auburn is waxing them from a in-state recruiting aspect. The bama machine “appears” to be losing its steem (slowly). Bama will not be the saban’s bama we’ve grown accustomed to when their an in-state recruiting is bad.
I think they'll be solid but I don't think anyone will match that Saban run anytime soon. Too much change and more parity in college football overall now. If DeBoer is good as they/media believe he is, I could still see them being a 9-10 win team regularly.

I take full responsibility. We moved to Georgia a few years back. Then, when it was time to start campus visits, we signed up for a tour of GA because it was close - no other reason than my convenience. That tour is what won her over.

“Boo Gators” was among her first words. Guess I didn’t hate GA enough - or early enough in her life. They always felt so irrelevant. Oh well.
OH that's different, living there is tough. I live in Arkansas and it'll be extremely hard to override the Fandom peer pressure of my kid's future friends.

Up until this decade, I didn't hate UGA like I did UF and Bama, they sneaked up on us.

I think the thing with some of the obnoxious UGA fanbase was that they act like they had the same trophy case as Bama during Saban's run before Kirby actually won them that championship. Some of them have become A LOT worse since that 1st championship a few years ago. I personally don't think we go on a 40 year drought like they did without winning a championship. We may be a playoff contender this year, but I think next year there will be more noise of us being a championship contender if everything continues to trend the way that it is.

Wait..wait!
I used to sell by younger cousin the stems and seeds since he didn’t know better. Is your name Jeff by chance?

They had 2 top 100 players decommit in the last week and they still have s better class on paper than we ever have. I wouldn’t trade our coaches or players for theirs, but it’s wild

Yeah it will take them having some down years before the recruiting falls off imo and I'm not sure their powers that be would allow it to happen. Obviously Saban still being close to the program will continue to help their recruiting efforts. We may not see a recruiting drop off from them for a few years. Similarly with us...it took a few years before our recruiting fell off and we fell into the abyss for that decade plus (prior to the revamp of our admin, AD and coaches).

The ones who need their license revoked already have their license revoked and it doesn't stop them from driving
