Spent a week in Poland on a business trip several years back. Missed my flight and spent all day in the Frankfurt airport, flew into Katowice, where the airport was about the size of a bus station. Then eventhough I was told we were staying on the 'business district', there was nothing to do and ended up eating at the same restaurant attached to the hotel all week. Only sign of anything remotely familiar was a pizza hut that took cash only.Have any of you Morans been to Poland? I have a work trip coming up. I couldn't find an Applebee's anywhere in Poland when I did a google search.

On the other hand, you're begging the question as to how football is "meant to be played". It's subjective. And you can't even use 'history' as a standard, as the game has already evolved tremendously from the days when players were dying from game impacts. It's kind of arrogant, actually. You are neither a player, coach or owner, yet you want to define for them what they need to endure to play the game.View attachment 673828
Nobody makes these guys go out there and make millions of dollars...if they don't want to to play the game as it is meant to be played, then go become a welder or an HVAC guy...or maybe be a garbage collector or a truck driver or a miner.. and make millions less....but won't have that pesky head problem..well except for miners, their job is way more dangerous than football.

Mack Brown choke a on live air didn’t he.I'd like to share my favorite photo from last year's Duke's Classic in Charlotte.

I can think of lots of jobs more dangerous than playing a game, and none of them come even close to the compensation that these pro-athletes receive. And that's not to say I'm against reasonable safety measures, but "reasonable" is generally up for debate.View attachment 673828

You get head lice, you don’t leave any thinking they’ll learn to be agreeable partners. If plaintiffs will stand firm against the corrupt NCAA they will win all the way to SCOTUS if necessary. That is one house that needs burned to the ground and the ashes salted. Start over somewhere else with different people and do it legally and ethically. The market can handle NIL.
Value of degree arguments are almost always completely off track when looking at these situations. What major will he be choosing? One that will open more doors with a Notre Dame degree than an Auburn degree? That is unlikely. That is painting with a wide brush. But the reality is that only a small percentage of football players obtain a degree in something that carries more weight with a Notre Dame degree than Auburn. That kinesiology degree from each school is the same from each. So at that point it becomes a kinesiology degree/former football player finding some job that is probably not even in the "career field" and will get a job based on booster connections because they played football. It is completely negligible. If we are talking about a young man planning to major in mechanical engineering, attempting to get into medical school, an MBA, etc then the name on the degree starts to mean something. It's widely believed the Duece Knight will end up at Auburn. I don't understand why anybody would turn down a free ride at Noter Dame to go to Auburn? Look at the eventual value of a degree from one versus the other, and please don't tell me to increase his chances at the pros because ND has a better resume!
Not sure what this is about, but the band director specifically mentions third down music. Is it really that different than when we were doing "third down for what"?Supposedly it was the players that pushed for the change.
Imagine Tennessee bringing in a bunch of transfer players. They push to get Rocky Top from the POTS replaced with a bunch of ****** pop music, and then those same players start 0-2. I cannot imagine how toxic this place would be
Salary is generally driven by profits generated for owners/investors/etc, and generally increases as the employee displays skills/talents/knowledge that can't be easily replaced by cheaper workers that would still bring in comparable profits. "Danger" is a red herring, unless it's affecting management's ability to find skilled people willing to do the job.I can think of lots of jobs more dangerous than playing a game, and none of them come even close to the compensation that these pro-athletes receive. And that's not to say I'm against reasonable safety measures, but "reasonable" is generally up for debate.
Soon you will be watching flag sissy ball...hope you enjoy that dumb . The game..the way it is meant to be played..is an extremely physical game...which is why it is so popular. On the other hand, you're begging the question as to how football is "meant to be played". Let's return that serve to you.
If you don't like the rule changes, go watch _______.
I'm not against reasonable measures and safety protocols either....I am against trying to turn it into flag football.I can think of lots of jobs more dangerous than playing a game, and none of them come even close to the compensation that these pro-athletes receive. The new kickoff rule will probably create more returns. I don’t know how that’s flag football. They just don’t allow guys to run 60 yards at full speed.I'm not against reasonable measures and safety protocols either....I am against trying to turn it into flag football.
So, you called my post stupid while ignoring it and then basically agreeing with it?Soon you will be watching flag sissy ball...hope you enjoy that dumb . The game..the way it is meant to be played..it us a extremely physical game...which is why it is so popular.
This kickoff thing is f'n stupid....period.
Now go write a overwrought overthought novel Tolstoi...you can call it.."Screw War...Bubble wrap for all"
