Whoever the next coach is, I really hope they keep Sam Pittman. What he has done with the OL is remarkable. The chemistry on the OL is great.

I agree he has done a good job & the oline is playing really well but let's be honest here...with as much experience & talent that they have they should be playing this well. JMO

That argument could have been made last year. The majority of the OL had already played 2 years.

Who cares. If you can't see the glaring differences between the two teams, you're blind.

I'm not comparing ND and us...

I'm just saying they aren't that good. They should've lost to a decent standford team.

And would lose to bama and oregon by 2tds imo

Espn acts like beating pitt, purdue, and mich st is so impressive

I despise ND but give credit where credit is due. They have won at Mich St, at Oklahoma, beat Michigan, they beat a decent Miami team (bad), they beat a Stanford team that beat USC.

These aren't elite teams, but they are by no means "slouches or cupcakes." I'm not saying they will beat Oregon or Bama but they do have an impressive resume.

sal sunseri is what harry heistand was to the OL.

The OL could still make plays last year because TN has recruited some great athletes there, but when it comes down to it on the defensive side there are some holes. Sal isn't getting the job done and that's 60% of the problem and another 40% is talent/personal...

Every level of the defense has issues. DL: lacking pass rush, D.Sentimore is basically it with some help from guys like C.Maggit and C.Miller. LB's: very little depth and injuries are effecting the play of this unit, late departures from Santos and O.Peters hurts right now with injuries to the only LB signed in 2012. DB's: I honestly don't know where to start, as a fan it hurts to watch this unit play that bad. I'm not even going to pretend and hopefully BB can help me put here, because DB's are his area of expertise.

Getting in a guy's face and yelling at him every time he missteps just doesn't motivate everyone. Some players are put off by that.

its exactly what sunseri does. i've been to every single Vols game this year, and he does the same thing after every blown assignment.

Which coach is up in the booth for the defense?

Right now, would send Sunseri up there and see if getting him off the sideline would help. It sure couldn't hurt.
Might give him a better perspective from up there.

I don't think he is much of a teacher.

he is a terrible teacher, there are moments when he is trying to help them understand scheme, but its just too complicated for them. why can't conklin take over some of the play calling ?

Michigan st sucks. Miamis defense is just as bad as ours. And we saw what bama did to mich.

ND is a pretty good team. No way they should play for national title. They will lost to usc

Where and when?

Thought it was you. You've been so blah lately. :)

People still talk noise because I said Elston was on the level of Vonn Bell. Well we'll get a chance to see. Elston is proving to be a good young ballplayer right now for Ole Miss. Bell will get his shot at one of these big schools. Our coaches really blew it not going after this kid and the CB from 6'2 CB from Cali.

I feel like I remember a few schools backing off of Elston late in the year. Didn't be have some sort of knee issue or something?

Didn't say it, but won't deny being very blah.
