Auburn will beat Georgia this weekend and eliminate them from the playoff talk. Remember, Auburn had an off week this past weekend. They are about to show everyone just how anemic the Georgia offense really is.

UGA's defense will likely do the same though to Auburn's offense. Nix has not held up well at all against good defenses, and UGA is right there with Auburn as far as easily the 2 best defenses in the SEC. I think UGA's balance on offense gives the dawgs the advantage.

That offense is nowhere near the same. Your argument fell apart at the opening line lol. No one is saying Clemson shouldn't be in, but there's no way you can make the case that their resume THIS YEAR has been better than Minnesota
They returned like 9 starters, so yeah, it's the same.

If Clemson were playing Minnesota this week what do you think the score would be? Even if it was in Minnesota they beat them by 4 tds.

And the Oregon team you were arguing for would have lost to that 8-4 Auburn team. How would it make sense for Oregon to jump Bama in that scenario?
It's so simple LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Bama are the best 4 either team would destory Minn. i don't like bama but they would put a beat down on MINN. OR THE DUCKS LOOK AT THE FINAL 4 YOU WOULD HAVE they say they wont the best 4 think about it would you rater see a LSU-Minn game or a LSU-bAMA REMATCH IN THE semi finals.

You clearly haven't actually watched them play. People like you are the reason we have this problem of preseason rankings having too much influence on post season rankings, you just look at the returning roster and give them credit for being as elite as they were without actually requiring them to perform at an elite level.

I think there's a decent chance that Auburn beats Georgia Saturday. Georgia is going to struggle to move the ball, I think. Coley is still learning and has not demonstrated he can lead the offense.
But isn't GA's D good and Auburn's O bad?

Clemson is averaging over 100 yards per game more than last season. They had the 38th ranked offense last season and this year it is 2nd despite playing backups most of the 2nd half of their games. You listen to ESPN too much. They are better than last season by a lot.

Also scoring 12 more points a game than last season. They went from 33 last year to 45 this season.

Imagine if TN were in a similar situation that Bama is now in, what would your opinion be then? Would you argue we shouldn't be in over a conference champion even if we were a better team?
I do imagine that...and that is why I always say the SEC will start getting screwed just in time for us to regain our place...the most Tennessee thing ever would be for us being left out for this reason.

That's not the true algorithm. That site basically averages the polls and nothing else. The old bcs had like 7 different computer algorithms as well.

I've wondered why they felt the need to use a committee instead of just expanding the bcs field to 4
So everyone would complain and be willing to let go of the tradition of the bowls in order to expand the playoffs.

I have quite a bit. I think people were just expecting them to be perfect and they weren't the first few games. Despite Trevor Lawrence's supposedly slow start he was still putting up better numbers than Deshaun Watson was putting up his JR year through the same number of games. Clemson and LSU will end up being the championship and it will be really good. Clemson has a much better defense than Bama or LSU though.

Because there are 100+ teams spread out over a continent...that's why.
This is true, and it's the reason why the conference championship and bowl games used to bring excitement of the underdogs having a chance to prove they were better than what a bunch of people thought about them because of who they played. Now there's only about 6 teams with a shot because all of the best athletes are going to those few. And we get to argue about who is the top 4 of those.

Oregon at No. 6 makes me think they can jump Bama in the rankings if they win out + win the Pac-12 championship game. West coast ratings will be a factor in that decision IMO. Need Utah to win out as well for that matchup to be top 10.
Exactly. And assuming LSU wins the SEC championship, there is no way Bama gets in over Oregon in that scenario. Both would have a ranked loss, but only one would have a top 10 win and that would be Oregon.
