I get the angst by that fanbase. He's been their version of Mark Richt. Almost getting there, but never getting it done. I just don't see him going to Arkansas. He would definitely stay upper league P5.
Where would he be a strong candidate? Don’t see him at FSU or USC (if that becomes available)...maybe USCjr? Mississippi State and Arkansas are a wash.

I agree it does and it will, but I'm just saying it shouldn't. The royalty shouldn't get preferential treatment.

Is it royalty though? I mean Clemson has won 2 of the last 4 titles, and played in 3 of the first 5 championship games...it's not like they've not earned some respect with what they've done on the field.

Big 12 makes the most sense. If they want to go to 12 again, I could see them looking at UCF (why? to get a team in Florida for that market) and possibly Houston/SMU (another Texas team, but they had A&M for how long?)

Unless they go the BYU route, which wouldn't get them much. I don't know another non-P5 school that would be good to take, though. And even BYU probably wont want to join a conference.

Heck I would put USCjr in there being equal with MSST and Arky. MSU may come open soon, but that would be a pretty big shift in philosophy from what Danny has been doing up there. I could actually see MSST or USCjr going after Dantonio if he gets the axe.

Been following that concussion fiasco at Michigan State? What we alleged with Butch and Kendrick paled in comparison to what transpired in their game against Illinois.

That's the definition of royalty in football, past success' giving you preferential treatment in the future. The program has earned respect, but they should still have to earn it with their body of work on the field year after year.

Corey Walker has signed. Boom. 14.9 stars added to TN Men's BBall team today

Definitely not a one big happy family up there right now. Pretty cold and desolate if you ask me. L to Mich-ee-gan, W to Rootgars, and who-the-heck-knows to the Land of Marys. I think he gets canned if they lose that last one.

You clearly haven't actually watched them play. People like you are the reason we have this problem of preseason rankings having too much influence on post season rankings, you just look at the returning roster and give them credit for being as elite as they were without actually requiring them to perform at an elite level.
On the other hand you are going off your subjective opinion of their schedule strength.

You're talking like they aren't 10-0... lol

This is a wasted discussion to continue on though, so I won't.

So the bundle I did is Hulu (with ads), Disney+ and ESPN+

Disney has all their movies, Pixar movies, Marvel, Star Wars, and then a host of old shows/movies etc. all that for $12.99 a month. We swapped it for HBO Now, which we ditched since GoT is done.

disney can't sniff HBO's original content.I'm not getting why you would pay for one tv show and a bunch of movies you stuff already seen?

Wasn't Nebraska allowed to offer their in-state recruits academic scholarships instead of athletic scholarships back in Osborne days? They would have 100+ players on the team.
Yep, every time they were on tv in the 80's and 90's they would brag about Nebraska's incredible walk-on system. Most people watching had this reaction.

Got basically every Disney produced movie and series in the vault. All the Marvel movies and original series being released. They have so much content that I don’t think it’s all been loaded on the platform yet. But yeah...free week is a free week.

There are a lot of titles that aren't on there for various reasons. Anything newer that might have a streaming deal somewhere else isn't on there yet.

-Quite a few older movies aren't on there (Mighty Ducks, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Dragonslayer, to name a few).
-Controversial titles like Song of the South aren't there.
-I'm sure there are tons of animated shows that aren't there.
-It doesn't have every Marvel or Pixar title either (Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Coco, Up).

Disney owns a lot of stuff, and a lot of that stuff isn't there, but it's easy to find lists of what is there, and I'm sure some of it will come on later, and some of it will probably rotate.

I think there's a decent chance that Auburn beats Georgia Saturday. Georgia is going to struggle to move the ball, I think. Coley is still learning and has not demonstrated he can lead the offense.
Agree it's a defensive battle, but trust Fromm and Swift way more than what Auburn has. UGA is also giving up HALF as many points per game as what Auburn is in SEC games.

There is quite a bit of objectivity in strength of schedule...
Isn't it the very definition of circularity? I agree we have to have some intersubjective agreement to make sense of it all. But I don't see how any of it is objectively true.

i go back and forth. i think championships should matter. cause i think the regular season, winning your division and/or conf should matter.

but it's hard for me to look at a 1 loss Bama against OR, UT, OU, PSU etc....and definitively say that any of them are actually "better" than Bama.

the problem, imo, is the subjectivity used to determine this. as we've seen in this discussion, there's a lot of differing opinions and metrics that can be used to support or deflect.

i still say they should just use the BCS model and just play the top 4 teams........
It's why they'll end up expanding the playoffs though. And honestly, an argument over who gets 8th really won't matter because nobody will believe they have a legitimate shot anyway.

Not saying it's what I want but this argument every year will make it happen.

Isn't Apple TV+ hiring the former HBO executive? Think he was responsible for Game of Thrones, etc. It's amazing what all of these streaming companies are doing to gain an upper hand in content.

A sleeping giant honestly feasting on a weak conference.

1. in arguably one of the best states to recruit
2. the largest IN STATE school
3. sitting in the largest city in the state (Orlando)

They keep winning and pulling in money to upgrade facilities and pay coaches more. At some point I think they'll be in a Power 5
Agree. I think they will be in the ACC with Memphis very soon.

I mean, yes there is technically some subjectivity, but there's plenty of arithmetic as well. Much more objective than just saying "so and so is a better program regardless of their win/loss or the ranking of opponents they beat." But if you want to be technical, my saying rankings are too subjective and then using beating a highly ranked team as an objective measure is circular in a sense. But I think it's the lesser of the logical evils.

If such talks even begin, Ark, Ole Miss, and us would fight like heck to make sure it didn't happen. No regional powers want a P5 team in Memphis. But I doubt they really have the support anyway. And they've been trash for so long before Fuente came along and they will return once Norvell moves on.

Agree ucf. That school is HUGE. 66k students...going to have a big alumni over time.
