That was their best play imo. Lack of institutional control, a loss of near all scholarships, 10 year postseason ban, a huge fine. Remember, the ncaa is the governing body that follows the rules set by its members. Its members can change a rule. Penny broke one. Then showed them up. Should put his ass out to pasture too given Bruce was for providing kosher weiners to a junior in high skew.

I can't decide if I want Muschamp fired. On the one hand - I don't think he's a good enough coach or runs a program well enough to beat a Pruitt led (read: no longer dysfunctional) Tennessee team. I can't recall who, but someone summed it up best a few days - let Muschamp linger around like a stale fart.

On the other hand, I'd love to see their surprisingly decent recruiting class fall apart. Marshawn Lloyd seems to love him some Muschamp.

Really perplexed that usc thought he could succeed at a tough school in the SEC east when he couldn't succeed at an easier school in the SEC east.

My wife worked with Hayden Hursts mom and she told me that his players love him and they would run through a wall for him. He will always be a good recruiter.

It's a rough time to be hiring a coach. Not a ton of super promising up and comers, and one good job is already open (FSU) and an even better one may open soon (USC). So the guys at mid to low-tier P5 jobs won't be in any hurry to jump to the South Carolinas or Arkansases of the world. Basically, a lot of ADs are just going to have to wait and let the pieces rearrange themselves before they make a move, because guys like Norvell, Campbell, Fleck, etc., aren't making any decisions until USC and FSU have made their hires.

Nah keep him there. He’s ass. They almost got Tom Herman last time they went looking. South carolina is in a great recruiting spot and is spending money now. That could turn back into a spurrier level opponent really quick.

If he's still recruiting well they might as well keep him for another year and hope the coaching search landscape is more favorable in 2020. It's hard to predict these things but I'm not sure any FSU/USC-caliber jobs will open up next year. Sucks to be hiring and knowing you're 3rd in line no matter what.
