I agree but Tua wasn't healthy. He was playing a few weeks from surgery on an ankle. The smart play was to sit him for what would of been three weeks and there's a decent chance he could have been close to 100% or at least as close to 100% as possible before the Iron Bowl. There wasn't a real justifiable reason to play him at all unless you're looking for style points. I could have half understood it if he'd had started the backup and he was struggling and he put Tua in in relief similar to how Pruitt did JG.
The obvious starting qb in a one qb System is going to be playing at the end of every single first half this time of year if healthy.

Big question for me is whether JG can make handoffs going to the right because of his cast. If he can’t that’s a real limitation on the offense when he is in there.

Hoping he and the backs adapt and become more comfortable with each practice snap.

Let me rephrase
"As dawn breaks across our nation, may thoughts of concern over exchanges turn to hope and confidence"
#prayersformeshpoint.

I edited my op

I don’t disagree

Anyone blaming a coach for playing a qb in the first half isn’t being realistic. Can’t expect a coach to pull his starters before halftime
Bruin has spoken!

Everyone Bruin is agreeing with should catch finally on that they are humiliated, even if they were not bright enough to spot it without such a massive clue.

Tua absolutely doesn’t need to come back and continue to risk injury. He needed to be in the league 2 years ago. But Herbert is the clear number 1, especially now. Behind him though? Lots of questions

Not really. There was absolutely no reason to have him in there. He has run a 2 minute drill before. MSU was not going to score enough to get past 21. He needed to rest that ankle. Other QBs needed to get playing time. The only reason he was in was to run up the score to try to force the PO committee to pick them with 1 loss. Granted it would have been worse if the ankle was the injury. Let him get some criticism. It is so rare.
Agree, if I'm being honest I don't believe I would have played him a snap. Everyone said he was 60 to 70% last week, seems sitting out this week would have been a good thing..

Imo he’s at the point where he’s going to lose so much for being injury prone that if he gambles on his own health and comes back he gets most of that money back if he plays an entire year injury free at Bama next year

Damn near every name that has come up in our coaching searches since 2010 (either for real or just among fans) is having a bad season, is on the hot seat, or has already been fired at least once from somewhere.

Frost
Muschamp
Fitzgerald
Durkin
Sumlin
Babers
Brohm
Strong
Frank Wilson
Taggart
Morris
Chip Kelly
Neal Brown
Bobo
Doeren
Leach

Even the one who got away, Gary Patterson, is kinda trending down at TCU.
Fact is, only about 3 coaches hardly ever have down seasons, but we all lose our mind at the first sign of “decline”. Fluctuation is a reality that the best coaches minimize, but can rarely eliminate

Just like that Lyle "Monica" Jones becomes President (of the Gumps).

Saban needs to hang on a couple more years as his recruiting will begin to slip due to not being an automatic qualifier to the CFP begins to affect him on the trail. Then when he finally peters out, the cupboard won't be quite as stocked and the new guy (please let it be Lyle) will have less to work with coming in.

Tennessee is now tied for 34th in the country in the total defense and we have a good chance to finish in the top 30. This a pretty good accomplishment by the coaches and players considering the injuries, transfers and lack of depth we have experienced on that side of the ball this year.

Very good turnaround

I agree here, I would have rested him. Feels like Tua really pressured him to play.

Outstanding given the lack of talent and depth in the front seven. We play a 3-4 and have 3 good linebackers and somehow we’re playing really good defense.

Saban has a history of playing hurt and injured players. I'm surprised it hasn't hurt him in recruiting more but young men don't always think about their long term futures over the right now and Saban offers a great deal in terms of immediacy.
How is it going to hurt him in recruiting? Players don't think about stuff like that. They want a championship ring and that's why they go to Bama.

I like it, That’s the way you want to trend. To think we could go 6-1 to finish the season after starting 1-4 is a testament to the players and coaches. Players are definitely buying in now and it shows. Gotta think the 2020 defense is gonna be one stout unit..
