How about we wait until CJP wins his first SEC title before worrying about him going back to Bama?

The Mizzou of 2018 did not translate to the Mizzou of 2019 - at all. Our week off will really help our O-line in particular. Our D should throttle the Fighting Dooleys.
He doesn’t have to win the east much less the SEC to make that jump

As long he gets us one more win he would be Bamas second choice THIS season imo

I've never been, but I have heard LSU fans were pretty bad to Vol fans back in the day.
Back in the day, when we had King and Grunfeld on our BB team, I traveled to Oxford to see them play. The travel agent sent about 8 buses down there from Memphis and we all sat in the same section. We kicked their a$$ every time and the Ole Miss fans would throw cups of pi$$ into our section. LSU fans did the same thing in Baton Rogue. I guess throwing cups of pi$$ was just a thing back then :eek::eek::eek:

Need to remind everyone: Line was -5.5 for Mizzou last year. They won 50-17. Easily most disappointing game od 2018.
While true, 2018 Mizzou was trending up and had a previous 4-game scoring margin of +14 points (per game), including a road win over #7 UF.

2019 Mizzou has lost its previous 4 games by an average of 11 points. 2 being really bad losses.

I just don't see the same threat this year. Their D is very good, but man I just don't see them getting over 20 points on us. Like UK, first team to 20 probably wins. IF we stick to our strength and throw it up to our grown men receivers, we will score enough. If we get conservative and try to nickel and dime them, we may lose. But there's definitely no blowouts in store this year. This isn't Lock's offense and Dooley stinks again...even Odom criticized him 👀

I think the tide has turned on the Bama dynasty. Bama fatigue has set in, and people root for Anybody But Bama. Saban looks like a guy who's tired and not having fun. I can't see him sticking around for too much backsliding, and he's not going to like all the criticism coming his way. And I'll be surprised if Tua returns. With his injury record, I think he'll want to get paid as soon as possible, in case his career is cut short.
Someone is going to get the steal of the century on Tua When he falls in the draft too.

I hope one day someone saves the piss and the culprit is caught by dna analysis.

Wow that's terrible. I also think King had a rough time according to his espn special. Can't imagine playing through the deep south back then when your best players are 2 new yorkers, 1 black and 1 jewish. Must have been funny as heck though when we were kicking all their butts 😂 Also pretty cool both chose to come all the way here and be Vols.

Every dime we have paid Butch Jones is starting to pay off!

I think 7-5 has us in either the Belk Bowl or Music City Bowl.

LSU will be in the playoff. One of UGA/Bama could easily be in the playoff and the other will probably be in the Sugar Bowl. Florida in the Outback Bowl. Then it’s between us, Auburn, and A&M. I vote A&M goes to the Taxslayer Bowl.

Yeahh I was way off. I thought after beating the spread 5 straight weeks, things might swing our direction. But I like this better. We've played well as the underdog.

FPI has us 41% vs Mizzou.
91% vs Vandy.
I can live with those odds.
I like being the underdog, too. Plays into the grittiness of this team.

No way he is second lol. Bama will be picking from the highest branches from the start.

Now...do their top choices turn them down because following Saban may be career suicide and they could have long careers elsewhere? It's certainly possible. If that becomes a common theme during the search, then it's possible they look to an alumni that is not risk averse. That would be Jeremy Pruitt. The guy is gung ho and very confident. He may take the job with neither blinking nor a worry in mind.

But I still have a hard time believing every single top choice would be scared by coaching in the Saban shadow. Surely at least 1 candidate would see inheriting a top 3 team in talent, having 100% community buyin, and being close to top high school talent as great reasons to jump in. The expectations may be crazy, but the inheritance and potential spoils are crazy too.
