What a great weekend for Tennessee. Our arch and oldest rival finally will miss the playoffs, which will help us both in itself and in the sense of decline and even panic that it has unleashed at bammer. Bammer's arrogant coach is under the microscope and is having a deliciously bad time of it. His media sycophants are making fools of themselves in their hysteria. It even looks like there is a path to Georgia, another hated rival, missing the playoffs, creating trouble for Kirby Dumb. And finally the basketVols beat a ranked team in a game that will count towards tourney consideration and propelled us into the top 20.

If he wanted the bubba job so bad...then why didn't he just stay there? Looks like that would have been a infinitely easier route to Bubba HC than taking on the UT disaster recovery project...I mean at this point honestly it could still go either way here..🤷‍♂️

Doubtful they would have hired him without any head coaching experience.

And apparently our Rugby squad won the conference.

Not sure I'd write Bama off just yet. Still have some dominoes that need to fall for them to be truly eliminated. And if Bama wins the Iron Bowl, a lot of Saban criticism dies down. Best case scenario they lose to Auburn, but I'm not sure we should assume that happens.

It's gonna work out.

Back in the day, when we had King and Grunfeld on our BB team, I traveled to Oxford to see them play. The travel agent sent about 8 buses down there from Memphis and we all sat in the same section. We kicked their a$$ every time and the Ole Miss fans would throw cups of pi$$ into our section. LSU fans did the same thing in Baton Rogue. I guess throwing cups of pi$$ was just a thing back then :eek::eek::eek:
R. Kelley approves!

Our best hope to keep him is if they go in another direction. That truly is his dream job.

I mean, is it really not that obvious?? It is to me. IMO, the only way he stays here is by falling in love with TN, it’s history, the maxims, the city and the fans and decides he wants to build his own legacy rather than following someone else. He can go back to Bama once every other year to beat that A.

Not so fast my friend. Until the fat lady sings... Bama ain't out of it yet. Just Saban, um, I mean, just sayin'.

While true, 2018 Mizzou was trending up and had a previous 4-game scoring margin of +14 points (per game), including a road win over #7 UF.

2019 Mizzou has lost its previous 4 games by an average of 11 points. 2 being really bad losses.

I just don't see the same threat this year. Their D is very good, but man I just don't see them getting over 20 points on us. Like UK, first team to 20 probably wins. IF we stick to our strength and throw it up to our grown men receivers, we will score enough. If we get conservative and try to nickel and dime them, we may lose. But there's definitely no blowouts in store this year. This isn't Lock's offense and Dooley stinks again...even Odom criticized him 👀
Agreed. Everything points to a close game this year, just dont get the hubris on here. Seeems like lots if folks think we win by 14. If both teams play a "clean" game, it will be 3-7 point game. Our D is much better than last year. And their offense, while better than Miss St and Ky, is nowhere near what it was under Locke.

That means we will be playing coach lottery again...and being humiliated on top of that. It sounds like a recipe for another decade of despair to me.

If Bama comes for Pruitt in 2-3 years it means we have won the division a couple of times and been in the playoff hunt. If that’s the case, Pruitt has recruited extremely well, we’re not a dumpster fire and we’d have a line of 5-7 top coaches WANTING to be here. Trust me, Bama hasn’t forgotten what hiring the Mike Prices of the world can do to your program. They will swing for the fences and probably offer an NFL coach 10 mil a year.

So I have a theory on Trey. In the medical world, multiple blood clots means you get anticoagulation for life. Trey and his team somehow devised a plan for him to be able to play. Also, he doesn’t practice through the week.

I bet/wonder if he takes lovenox shots throughout the week to keep himself anticoagulated and then holds it on game day. Being off of blood thinners for one day probably leads to much less risk than daily. And this would allow him to play since lovenox is typically dosed every 12 hours.

If this is the case, how would he fare in the NFL where I doubt he could miss practice as much as he currently does.
No idea about the medical aspect of it but something that will/should help with his NFL future is Russell Okung coming back and playing with the same medical issue.

Count me in that "win by 14" group. Our D has played quite well here recently, they've scored a whopping 6 points over the last two games, and we're due for some retribution. 21-7, Vols.

And if you think for one second that CJP and crew ready, I got some ocean front property right outside of Murrvull to sell ya, cheap.
