Yeah I believe the donation was in 2008 or so. I'm curious at what point one is no longer considered a booster if they're not making consistent donations (I do find it a bit curious Penny hasn't been donating since, just 1 big lump sum and they never hit him up again?). If the donation was last year, then a huge penalty would be in store. It being 10 or 11 years I think is why the penalty was less severe. But what if it had been 20 years. Or 50? They have to draw up some guidelines here, otherwise it gets ridiculous if there is no statute of limitations.

Wouldn't the fact that he was a Memphis alum override all of that? Seems to me that even if he had never given a dime to Memphis, but everything else stayed the same, he should be in hot water.

Also, a high school bb coach shouldn't be able to take a college coaching job and then recruit players who played for him in hs. There are limits on fb coaches doing that. It would have even more of an impact in bb.

"He" = Penny. Yes, he should be in trouble. He is not. I believe he should be. If he had never been a booster? I don't know of rules in place against that. You would think there would be had the money-giver still become a coach. Either way, smart bag networks would have their bagmen be non-boosters...

That's an excellent point. Couldn't Kenyatta Watson Sr not be a coach anywhere his son went? And Rush Propst too? Hmm

I’m not saying he won’t be good, however, I feel like his redshirt was burned for no reason. (I know it’s not technically burned) but he is going to play the remainder of the years he is in Tennessee so he won’t ever use one unless he gets hurt.

I think any RB who possibly can, chooses to leave after their third year on campus due to the NFL RB shelf life.

If he is that good, it would have been red shirt and then two years of production most likely, so I don’t mind

I just think he could have got better development this year running with the scout team. That’s just me though. He needed to take hits in practice and get passed the shoe string tackles etc. He has to correct being taken down on first contact.

Maybe. Could’ve been bad for team chemistry but maybe our culture and coaches would’ve been good for him

Also Blackshear played in a system that is similar to Tennessee last year. Inside out. Florida doesnt have that going for them right now. They are very unorganized.

I don't know if it happened or not, but it happens all the time. He was upset and said what he really thinks. Look at his actions he punched the man in the private parts twice. Then he further escalated it by chasing after him. Check out below how Paris doesn't escalate it further by chasing Vernon. Also with so many folks in the stadium, it's possible that he said it low enough were only Garrett could hear him.

Not sure how many times I've heard him do that "turn the ball over once, your chances to win drop by ___%"... but a lot.

Agree about the fumbling. Needed to get better at ball security.

Biggest issue Banks had was trying to do to much. (This usually caused his Ball security issues, like stretching out for a TD on 1st and goal on the 1 yard line.)

It's most definitely possible others didn't hear it, especially when 2 guys are in close quarters during sacks. I've played plenty of basketball with people speaking under their breath. You are assuming the opposite. I am merely saying the possibility is there. Slur or not, words are words and all can be said at low volume.

Don’t want to get roasted but concerned about recruiting which I know has been discussed. It’s like the last years of Dooley and Butch level...at least we now have a staff who can develop but it does look promising for 2020. Surprised we don’t have more JUCO on radar.

Why would we waste spots on JUCO guys? The only position we truly lose anything from is WR and one LBer. Get HS kids in there that you can develop from the ground up.
