I've heard a lot of Steelers fans wanting to fire Tomlin the last couple years. I just don't get it. He's never had a losing record. Has won a super bowl. And the job he's done this year after losing his 3 best players and Conner for most of the year has been maybe his most impressive season yet. I can't believe they're 8-5 right now with they're 3rd starting qb of the season.

I was about to try to compare Currie to Fulmer in the bowl game situation and then I realized we would not be talking about bowl games if he were still here. We would be pissed he decided to give Schiano another year because even though we finished 2-10, he had seen "signs of improvement."

Because they weren't getting a big name hire. It was going to be a gamble no matter which way they went. They had a history with Pittman and thought it was a good fit. I think he could be a decent head coach. You've buried him from the start. I'm interested in seeing what he can do.

I’m looking at it more from what they are built to do standpoint. I think they went recruiter first and i don’t think they are built to do that. At their best, They are never going to have a better roster than bama, LSU, or auburn. Texas AM is debatable. I would say the same thing about here. I don’t think a style like orgeron would do well here. I think it’s really important that we have a head coach who is proven on either side of the ball.

The west is going to be interesting over the next few years. Recruiting gets a little hairier across the board but gotta think a marginally more competitive West division helps makes somewhat tougher roads for LSU and bama each year. I do like that all three hires this year are offensive guys and we’ve got our defensive guy. Can’t let Chaney leave.
