Absolutely. You could also spin his last two years as he had 2 x SEC POY & 2.5 NBA players and never won a conference tourney and had a sweet 16 & 2nd round exit.I actually agree that stricter expectations followed him flirting with UCLA
Glad to see our marketing dept finally woke up and decided to use our resources. Charles Davis, Foster, Patterson are all big name guys that help the image of the University.
Now if they can get Kamara and Derek Barnett involved it would help as well. Written and Manning if they have the time. This tells me the AD is finally organized and pulling in the right direction.
If you compare them to previous years, they exceedingly overachieved. And he had a big part in these UNDERrecruited NBA players becoming NBA players. People been bisching since they got led out of Egypt.Absolutely. That doesn’t mean those last two years weren’t incredibly fun. I would take them pretty much every year. But when you only look at the end of the years, we’ve underachieved.
Their writer made a good point. Most schools fret over potentially losing a good class if they fire their HC. USC had the perfect opportunity of not having to care about that at all this year and opted not to take it. Now they have a bad coach and a bad class.USC 78th nationally. I mean, I didn't know that was possible there. You should have a HC vacancy and still pull a better class. Unreal.

It looks to me like all of these views are correct, and they do not contradict each other. I will add: And look at the class he is bringing in!If you compare them to previous years, they exceedingly overachieved. Interesting stuff. Kind of neat they evaluate how a class filled team needs and other manual analyses.Can anyone explain to me the huge difference in methodology in class rankings between ESPN (18) and Rivals (9)? (I don't mean simply that DisneyESPN sucks.)
@Devo182
Edit: O, I just found ESPN saying they don't go by numbers, but move teams around according to how they want them to place. How we determine our class rankings
Rivals: Rivals.com - Rivals.com Football Team Recruiting Rankings Formula
lmao
that leaves the No. 5-ranked Bulldogs without three starters on the offensive line for the New Year’s Day matchup against No. 7 Baylor in the Sugar Bowl. Starting tackles Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson have declared for the NFL draft and do not plan to play in the bowl. The Bulldogs are still awaiting word on whether starting left guard Solomon Kindley plans to turn pro.
Baylor is going to run them off the field....they will get embarrassed again....with all of them highly ranked classes, they should be able to plug and play. And Kirby Smart talking like James Cook will play even though he was just arrested. The media and fans in Knoxville crucify our players for pulling a gate off the wall. Hell, they act like JJ pulled the helmet off of the Vandy player then jumped up and down on his head.lmao
We’ll see.All in your head.
This was never going to be a season up to the standards of the last two years. Too many new pieces. We are so limited inside. As I said earlier the NCAA screwed us over by not letting Uros play. Fulkerson is doing all he can but he was really man handled last night. Not having any appreciable inside game is putting pressure on the outside game and our seniors have not stepped up. In the Memphis game our guards were missing open looks. Last night they were not getting many open looks. They aren't penetrating guards either so that limits what we can do.This was always going to be a transition year in basketball. Bowden has always been a very streaky shooter, but Turner has been a lights out guard for most of his career, sans the shoulder injury last year and this year. He's fighting through it, because he's a warrior. JJJ has shown flashes, and will be special. Fulky has stepped up in a huge way, and Pons has also drastically improved.
Bottom line is this is a guard heavy team, and we're trying to work inside out like we still have Grant and Admiral. I thought coming into the year that we would have to be a heavy transition team, and that's still where most of our points are coming from (and the free throw line, we were 17-17 last night.) The more continuity this young team gets, the more we will be able to put the ball in the basket. This is still and ELITE defensive unit. Have patience, grasshoppers.
