i think you're both right. early on, he's a pass rusher; as he develops and if they decide to add to the frame, i think you're probably right in that he winds up as a DE.....

I think Baron gets that "wait and see" approach. Get him on campus, see how the S&C impacts him. Some kids can add weight and some shed it, but I think Fitz lets some of that sort itself out naturally in those first weeks of conditioning.

The thing about Baron is he's already got massive trunks for legs, so I don't know how much more can be added.

I think Pruitt really likes having a wildcat QB option.
yeah, he really wants to stress opposing defenses.....speed can do that. i'm sure they're going to find ways to get him, Hyatt and Callway the ball as much as possible....PR/KR/Sweeps/WC QB etc...and WR.....you look at how NO uses Kamara or Carolina uses McCaffery....they can do a lot of those things iwth a couple of these guys...line them up anywhere on the field, and make defenses pay attention.

i'm looking forward to it.

🔥 take coming...

If Jimmy Holliday is given the change to play QB, he could surpass Shrout or Maurer. He’s 6’ and could get to 215... he’s got a cannon and a verified 4.38 40... I know he’s coming as an athlete and will more than likely be a WR, but I’d love to see him have his chance.
I really like Holiday but from what I saw I wouldn't say he has a cannon or even if very accurate passing

upper body is where he has the most potential to add. agree about the legs.

none of this has to happen overnight, and right now, barring something changing, we do need help at OLB....and right now his frame fits that need. he'll definitley get a lot out of S&C; what the plan for him will be in that regard as a freshman? no idea...

I mean someone like @nicksjuzunk can speak to this better than me, but in all my experience the guys who you can add "good" weight to fast are usually the dude's that haven't got the thunder thighs.

Also Holiday is probably never playing QB except in the wildcat. He had 1020 passing yards last year, and over 1400 rushing in both seasons. He's a "ball in the hands" guy more than anything else. Probably ends up at WR and a likely candidate to return kicks & punts.

@sjt18 thinks Holliday is a noodle arm. I can't really tell, but the kid is a playmaker imo. I say use him everywhere. Players like that have to be a nightmare for DCs..
I didn't say that exactly. I said he doesn't appear to have good arm strength in his videos and short arms the ball.

It isn't fair to judge without knowing what kind of receivers he had but he only threw 10 or 12 TD passes also.

Anyone who has read my comments knows that I'm not ready to jump on board for Bailey either. He's highly thought of but I am trying to compare to other Vol QB recruits. I haven't seen him do anything in his highlight videos more impressive than what JG did in his. That's certainly not bad... I'm just not ready to coronate either of these signees.

Phillip Rivers has a weird throwing motion too...

Dude I get so tired of him so easily I have never seen a QB suck so bad for so long as he has and still continues to blame others around him and scream at his wide receivers for his mistakes.it makes me so mad.he needs to retire or The chargers release him he’s not a good or clutch QB at all

Another thing I have noticed about ESPN rankings is they do much fewer re-ranks during the year. So their higher ranked players tend to be players who were higher ranked during their junior years. So if a player is a late bloomer with a very good senior year, the other sites (247 and Rivals) tend to raise their rankings, but ESPN does not. One really obvious example is that Reggie Grimes is still the overall 17 ranked player on ESPN whereas the other sites have dropped his rating this year.

Since we seemed to sign quite a few players in this class that were late risers with really good senior years, it would make since that ESPN would rank our class lower than 247 or Rivals.
Good point. They're terrible. Grimes #17 lolol

Say he goes No. 1 overall, what does that say to future lottery picks? Is there any need to play college ball? Or can they can just sign with an agent who fronts them money to just train for a year or play overseas?

This has come up several times recently. RJ Hampton was a 5 star in this past class and signed a one year deal with an Australian team to be eligible for the draft. It will happen more.

NBA don't give 2 spits what he does for that year he's not eligible. If not for the fact college basketball exposure is what it is most these HS guys would play overseas for a year I think and make some money before the NBA takes 'em.

Bailey is 4th all time in Georgia State history for career passing yards...who gives a damn about his tape. He took his HS to their first state title in half a century, and he did this in Georgia one of the most competitive states in the country for HS football.
