If we lose to Arkansas with two weeks to prepare and playing a team that hadn’t won a single SEC game in over 20 games until this year, then we should absolutely be debating when we stop the bleeding.
There secondary is not good. My gosh our QB is just bad and I can’t believe some are still defending him, including our coach. Everyone else is making QB changes with freshmen QBs and we won’t even budge.19/25 185 yds 1td
25/44 318 yds 3td 1 int
218/28 365 yds 2 tds
18/40 269 2tds 3ints
13/24 162 yds 2 tds
As much as people are praising JG yesterday he still had the lowest output of any qb vs Bama this year. Only Bennett had a worse total game.
This is more or less where I am. Think the Arkansas game will be pretty close but I have no confidence we will win. We’re awful on defense. Nobody on the DLine can get off a block. We have no LB outside of Toot and he struggles in coverage. And our DBs are consistently out of position and have terrible ball skills. I see almost no development on D.
An I have no confidence we beat Ark. Lose that one and the wheels come off.

I didn’t compare coaches. I compared searches. I still believe all were panic/rushed hires. We looked ridiculous during last search. The fiasco that played out with Curry was unreal.Once fulmer was in place a real search was done a very good candidate was hired. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t.
But to compare Pruitt to Dooley and butch is not fair imo
Neither Dooley or butch could get a coordinator job after being fired as a HC. It would take Pruitt about 15 minutes to land a DC job with a contending team.
They would ask for further buy in from donors and try to float the bill. Luckily, Pruitt would go right back to Bama as DC, which would help the buyout. Although, knowing Bama, they would pay him $100,000 to screw us. But I don’t think anyone would give buy in unless we had our guy already on the line and it was a proven winner. I am not sure how you keep a coach if he only wins two games this year.Mullen always wanted the Florida job. Finances have been handicapped by COVID and would be even more so by all the buyouts. Phil wouldn't be able to get the cash if he admits HIS hire is a failure.
Putting that quote in context, I think what Pruitt might have been trying to say is the lack of spring practice and a real camp has hindered the development of the younger players. They haven't had that time to show themselves and earn their way onto the field. Everything is in chaos this year due to COVID. I could be wrong, but that was my takeaway from it.Pruitt’s quote on the young players may come back to bite him. Hopefully this bye week will allow some to get more reps and see significant action the rest of the season.
JG does not have the mental focus for it. One thing goes wrong and it's a domino effect. Add in his inability to read defenses, and make certain throws. He's not suited for the complexity of that system.I definitely think he could. He’s shown the ability to make a few plays with his legs. Shorten his reads. Quick throw. Help him formations and motion. We have the backs for it. Both can catch.
I think we best Arkansas with Maurer at QB. He gives us a totally different dimension with his legs and willingness to run.
Why would our donors suddenly change after the last 4 searches? I don't buy it.They would ask for further buy in from donors and try to float the bill.
