Feel your pain. Need to vent a bit.

Could you see that Connor Bazelak was legit at QB for Mizzou when he took the first snap against us? He just had a QB rating of 126 with 70% completion rate and 201 yards against the same UK team that #2 and the rest of the team laid a huge egg against. He was 29/34 for over 400 yards against LSU the week after us in his first start. He's a RS Freshman. Does anybody on here believe we would beat Mizzou today and that #2 would play better than a first year starter in his 3rd game as a starter? Of course not. Does anybody on here believe Mizzou has more team talent than our guys? Of course not.

Jeremy is in his third year as a HC and has worked for some of the elite HC's in CFB for a lot of years before campaigning for and taking the job at UT. I've had enough with the excuses. The youth movement should have started in 2018 - some of us on here begged for it. There are what, like 2 or 3 of Botch's guys that would be starters at other elite SEC programs after 3 years with Jeremy? Three years of development for just a couple guys to prove themselves, while most of the other Botch guys get starting roles and extensive playing time to do what exactly? Lose? Look like doofuses on the field? Why, because Jeremy says they practice well? To produce a .500 W/L record in his time here with losses to Georgia State, BYU and now UK? To get blown out of games twice as much as Dools and Botch? To be embarrassed and humiliated time after time?

Everybody talks about how he just needs time to get more talent. Two more classes ought to do it they say. Don't all programs say that when they make changes from a losing HC? Didn't we say that with Dools and Botch and even as Phil cratered? The days of out-recruiting other programs to be able to win are dead and gone. The others that try it pay more and risk the AA hammer or are buds with the good old boys. We are amateurs at it. So that leaves recruiting the best kids you can find who bleed orange and can be developed well by a better coaching staff than we have seen on the hill for the past decade. Most of knew Lane Kiffin could have been that guy. It didn't work out. But you don't stop trying to hire "that" guy who can do it because Lane blew it. That was the right move to make then and now - find an innovative guy that can recruit the right players that knows how to motivate, develop, and win on game day. Look at what Pittman has done at Arky. The coaching world knew Odom is elite as a DC - we knew it from having to play against his guys and schemes. Everybody knew Briles was innovative and a future star on a P-5 level at OC. Nearly everybody on here laughed at the Pittman HC hire, which was dumb considering Phil was similar to Pittman in backgrounds. Player love playing for Pittman just like they did for Phil. Duh.

As far as I'm concerned Jeremy has 5 games left for a 180 degree turn in how he approaches his job. If I see #2 starting a game, I will immediately know that he isn't serious about his job or he is just plain dumb as dirt.

BY GOD!!!!!....what a post from the top ropes!!...this post cured Covid-19.You are the NWO!! @Vols4us

I can see it both ways. If younger guys that are bigger and faster can’t scheme correctly and repeatedly miss assignments, then yea, he has a point. If not, then it’s an issue.
The one clear message it sends is early playing for recruits isn’t a given which has been a strong point of Tennessee’s recruiting pitch the last few years.

It sounded to me like the point was that they weren't earning it in practice. People keep making this about him refusing to play young guys, but he is/has played plenty of freshman...apparently because they earn it.

Second half of Georgia game they got gassed. 1st half of Kentucky game they slap gave up.

Name another skill position player with six turnovers over that span that would see the football in his hands again.

go visit the ole miss, miss state and auburn sites for your answers

CJP would be wise to go ahead and start our 5 star Harrison Bailey. Look at the experience Bo Nix received by playing immediately last year. This is a shortened 10 game SEC season with bowl games being offered to teams with <.500 record. It's almost like a free trial with players not losing a year of eligibility. I'd rather go 3-7 with Bailey than 4-6 with JG.

I've come to the conclusion he's looking at this year totally different than us fans. He's willing to sacrifice this year to continue to instill his philosophy for next year and beyond. He is making his players earn it through their work ethic Sunday-Friday. I really don't think he gives a dam about this year. This is a 10 game scrimmage for him. You could tell it by the game plan against Alabama.
i'm not advocating firiging anyone....but to this point here, if i were, then my first repsone is "then quit telling us you're playing the kids that give us hte best chance to win, and play more kids so they're developing for next year."

so, basically, i don't think he's treating it as scrimmages, otherwise, we'd see a lot more guys getting reps. especially in garbage time the last two weeks.

i don't have a problem staying true to your core beliefs/philosphies on building a program.

but, imo, i think "earning it" can be done in different ways....

I wouldn’t use NIx as an example of what we want to happen

Perhaps if nix has sat and Learned by watching he’d be better Today

uh, no. he hasn't gotten a big break away run...but he's not going down on "initial" contact.

It’s hit or miss. Sometimes he is easily brought down and other times he makes them miss. It seems like he does better on his first and second down runs then seems to often go down short of sticks on 3rd down. I’d like to see small or beck with get some of the short yardage runs or call better plays that have gray in space with a defender not running in a crowd. I disagree with any notion that he has regressed. It’s more like we have had 3 straight games down multiple scores early which hurts run game. He has run well in all but the UGa game. It’s also not like we are playing candy weekly

Just came across a channel called Eleven Sports. Shows up on ELVN on AT&T.

They are literally showing a simulated football league. People set playbooks and play scripts and let them play out. Can't believe this is a real thing on tv lol
That's what happens when you have 500 channels :):). If you have a chance, try to find some of the stuff ESPN was broadcasting in their first few years of existence. Crazy stuff that you wouldn't think anyone would watch.

LSU rolled up 541 yards on South Carolina with a bunch of FR and SO's last night. Terrance Marshall was the only upper classman that did very much. They played two FR QBs, they had a FR pick up 3 sacks, two others that recorded a sack, and another that returned an int for a td. LSU is going to be better off down the road from it.
That's how you build for the future---I bet all of those freshmen are tearing it up in practice

i'll buy some of that. but i'll take it a step further as to why i think he's gotten better....the offense has kinda stunk it up, and JG is no more a threat in the passing game today than he was in Sept. 2018.

and he's the primary back, and he gets the majority of the carries and he's been reliable as a pass catcher too.

he's averaging right at 80 yards a game rushing, on 4.5ypc...he's getting 3 receptions a game for about another 20-25yds/game...right at 8 yards per reception......so he's averageing 19 touches/game 95 total yards per game from scrimmage...5 yards per touch..

he's literally the best player we have offensively....and we lean on him, and don't hide it.

I don't see what further expansion would do. It'll still be Bama, Clemson, Ohio State in the Natty every year. Sure more teams would I guess technically "play for a Natty" but there's such huge gaps between those three teams and the rest of college football almost every year. Last year's LSU team was an abnomly. When is the last year one of those teams weren't in the Natty? 2013. Before that 2010. 2 times in the decade. Absolutely horrible. Even before the playoffs started, Alabama was already on a dynasty.
Well, an 8 team playoff would at least spread the money around to 4 more teams.

the time for coach speak is over. coaches shouldnt listen to fans but, this is ridiculous.

they have nothing to lose. we cant score with guys we have. find an identity and stick to it. im sorry if you get butthurt Jim. they lose by sitting guys and gain everything by it it literally is mind numbing.
