So we are probably never beating Bama while Saban is there. The gap is too big and he is too far ahead of the curve with being willing to adapt and change.

I’m ready for the nightmare to be over. I hate Bama and all their inbred, rammer jammer, spoiled fans. The conference or NCAA really needs to step in and check the corruption and cheating going on down there.

This is the way I feel this Monday morning.

Yeah, they will get right on that.

After my sarcastic response to your other post, I’ll be serious. This is actually an interesting take. Maybe it’s why our commits continue to stick and keep reaffirming their commitment? Maybe this is the message Pruitt has been telling them all along? My only response against it is it looks like the team doesn’t like this approach since we have laid down the last 2 games.
I'm going to add this thought to that; part of the job a head coach has is getting players motivated. If there are a few players who aren't that's on players. If there's a significant portion of the team that lacks or can't be motivated, for whatever reason, that is on coaches.

I don't think there is a warm fuzzy answer that makes us feel better. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Pruitt is having a hard time feeling out the head coaching position. He doesn't have the players he needs, he probably doesn't have a high enough quality staff, and he's walked into a fanbase that expects too much.

Yeah, they will get right on that.

I feel like all this bickering about coaching and playing young players, schemes, etc...is all for nothing. We aren’t winning that Bama game no matter what. Even a perfect game won’t do it.

We are setup to lose that game every year until the playing field is leveled. It literally doesn’t matter what we do. It is 100% setup and guaranteed will be be out gunned and outmanned from a talent, resource, and rules compliance perspective before the coin toss even happens.

Nope according to you it shouldn’t matter.

Look, if the best QB you got throws 2 pick sixes, then the backup comes in and throws another leading to a FG against a team that’s known to run others into submission and drain the clock, you deserve to lose. That’s what happened. It is what it is. Gotta move on from it.
If the “best QB you’ve got” throws consecutive pick-6s, then he isn’t the best QB you’ve got.

All you have to do is chart the officiating in our Bama games since 2009. Kiffin complained back then, and ironically he is about to get fined for complaining about the officiating against Bama's rival.

It is not just coincidence anymore that they get calls year after year. You have to expect it when we play them.

Eric Gray and Ty Chandler have been ass this year.

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

I wouldn't say they've been "ass", Gray has worked really hard--- the problem is they go down literally at the slightest pull or bump... he runs falling forward and so anytime someone touches him he goes straight down. Neither can break a single tackle.
I said earlier, we need to rip the band-aid off and stick Crouch back there for several series a game... we MUST get that yards after contact with how overrated our line is this season and Gray and Chandler go down with a pull of a shoelace.

This might be too simple of a way of looking at it... but we have the talent to beat every opponent outside of Florida, Alabama, and Georgia every single year. 9-3 should be the standard, yet we haven't gone 9-3 since 2007.

That's 13 years of piss poor coaching .
Goes to show you talent wins games and culture wins titles.

I can’t wait until early signing day. I am ready to get the kids we have signed before the wheels fall off.

i wouldn't get your hopes up on many kids at this point. It isn't going to be pretty how folks melt down on here as we start to lose recruits. Recruits and parents aren't stupid, they see how this season is playing out, the bad decisions and lack of adjustment the HC is willing to make for the betterment of the program while the ship is sinking and certainly don't want to be a part of it when it starts getting really bad.

Our defense is good enough to win out with just a little bit of help from offense. KY game defense was due to turnovers and realizing game was out of reach.
These next two weeks had better be used to fix the offense. Simplify it and get the right personnel. Open it up and let playmakers make plays.

I don’t blame them one bit!..the box stays loaded.they have a whole defense rushing At them and not enough OLine men to stop it.

No denying we have tons of talent. The ceiling is very high for a bunch of these kids on our roster to really develop and shine over the next couple of years.
The question is, will this talent get used properly and developed, or wasted like so many other unfortunate kids and situations in this program over the past 8yrs? It's all up to the coaches and AD. Let's see what happens. After this weekend, I am not as hopeful as I once was. There's nothing about Saturday that leads me to believe we have the right coach or the right group of coaches to develop and maximize what we have on the roster.

Yes. Why would you reward someone on talent alone?

I would think Pruitt has a good deal of experience at what culture works and doesn't when dealing with higher talent levels. Many highly talented people have a terrible work ethic, which may be fine if you are an individual contributor, but in a team environment that can be destructive. Butch was known to coddle the best players and that bit us. Fans just want to win at all costs, but Pruitt may have learned that establishing the right culture is more important to long term success. I'm not gonna lie and say I like short term losses, but establishing the right culture may pay off in the future.

On another note, it's too bad Darrell Taylor is recovering from an injury. I read where Kyler Murray dropped back 48 times and was not sacked or even knocked down.

Did they practice yesterday?

Probably and a bunch of young players showed they can play and the staff will say they will get in the rotation but come game day they’ll forget and we’ll see the same useless blue collar try hards strugglesuck and when the game is over a reporter will ask why the young guys didn’t play and coach will say they have to earn it in practice.

That’s probably how it will go.
