These guys would look a lot better if we were more of a threat in the passing game.

The defense was the problem last game.

I get it basically everyone wants JG replaced but let’s not try to pin every single thing the team does poorly on him.

JG isn’t a game changer. But he was far from being the problem vs Bama.

Defense was why it got out of hand.

But let’s call the problem what it really is.

The problem last game was Bama themselves. Same with the Georgia game.

Until they play by the same rules as everybody else the best we can hope for is to play a near perfect game and keep it close. Until the real problem is addressed we aren’t winning these games.

All you have to do is chart the officiating in our Bama games since 2009. Kiffin complained back then, and ironically he is about to get fined for complaining about the officiating against Bama's rival.

It is not just coincidence anymore that they get calls year after year. You have to expect it when we play them.

It’s more than that.

These games are won in February by a complete flaunting of the rules with zero fear the guys in Birmingham or the NCAA will do a damn thing about it.

How...I mean..HOW do you lose to Tiger High with that QB and that team? That ranks as the all time worst loss to me...and it still makes zero sense.

Yeah we would have probably won that game with the review of the kickoff return, but still it should have been a 3 touchdown victory.

I think florida gets it done in the next few years is more likely than Georgia due to coaching

I’ve calmed down from Saturday night... dang it I still believe Pruitt can be the guy... he’s making it hard though. IF he gets the QB he needs that is a game changer I think he can recruit us to where we need to be. He knows what winning programs look like. We just need to land a star at the most important position on the field.

I agree, but that 9-3 should also balance out with us occasionally beating Georgia, Florida, and Bama just like occasionally a Kentucky, South Carolina, and whoever else beats us. If that makes sense

Gotta throw in the west rotation too and they beat us some 6 or 7 straight years before Pruitt. There's loss #4. 8-4 has been our peak for some time now. Playing OU and Oregon didn't help either.

I’ve been reluctant to share this thought, but we lost to Bama pretty much by the same score as UG. That’s my only bright spot I’m taking away from this past weekend.

Not sure about that. I think Kirby will out recruit Mullen each year. Fla is easy to recruit to especially in that state but idk if Mullen can land the top classes needed. He should but idk if he can.

I would advise you guys just to not give a $hit anymore. Last week, the air was a little sweeter and the sun a little brighter once I adopted this policy. I was at the game Saturday. Had a great time with friends, and the game didn't affect me cause I've let it go. It may be time for us t collectively let this $hit go.

The defense does concern me but college football is going more and more towards a high scoring game every year. UGA has an elite defense and Bama hung 40 on them. I agree we have to get better on defense. Bottom line and I don’t care who disagrees we do not have the horses on defense yet. Too many guys playing out of position. Our DBs are playing two high school wide receivers and another guy nobody recruited but us. I think if we had any kind of pass rush our DBs would be helped out tremendously.

I have zero faith in beating Arkansas with him at QB. There defense is playing well right now. Let’s all pray he is using the next two weeks to prepare Maurer or Bailey for the back half. We have a lot of games that we can win. Shoot we could win all of them with decent QB play. I’m not so down on the defense. I think their problem is lack of effort because of the offense hanging them out to dry. IMO we would see a strong defense who is rejuvenated by a new QB.

They are. #1 pass defense in the SEC so far.

Not as good on run D, though not bad either.

We will not beat Arkansas if we dont pressure Frank's and set the edge. We also won't win if we cant throw over the middle. Gotta be one guy who can get open over the middle....question is can we find a QB who can throw over the middle when it's there.

Not sure I trust Maurer to hit deep balls to Hyatt and Palmer in stride....but he can make things happen with his legs and has pocket presence. Also, Gray/Chandler/Small must run for 150 combined and Beasley should be the ILB that covers on passing downs.

Defense didn’t help but we knew Bama would torch even the best defense in the country. The major problem for this team is our QB will not win you games. His best is when he doesn’t turn the ball over and we squeak out a win. Teams do not see him as a threat and teams can sit on the run because they do not fear him beating you threw the air.

3 star and .8344 composite Kendre Miller is the leading rushing RB.

Yet all of Vn was foaming at the mouth for him and saying he’s the second coming

Def a problem but no THE problem last game.

Giving up 48 points in the game and 300 yards in the 1st half is also a huge problem. Bama O is fantastic tho.
