I’m with this whole statement. I watched the game with almost no emotion til I burst out yelling loudly at the TV because JG misses a read that even I saw. I didn’t even play QB in high school & still read the play much better than he did. I yelled “You’re a 5th year senior and you still can’t make that read?!” Much to my wife’s chagrin. but yeah our defense is not our biggest issue by any means. It’s even ranked higher than Bama’s right now. We get an at least competent & athletic QB with some arm talent and we’re a whole different look on offenseI’ve calmed down from Saturday night... dang it I still believe Pruitt can be the guy... he’s making it hard though. IF he gets the QB he needs that is a game changer I think he can recruit us to where we need to be. He knows what winning programs look like. We just need to land a star at the most important position on the field.
How much did we lose to mizzou by?LSUs offense hasn't been the problem. They would score on us like Bama did, maybe worse.
We would probably score 24, just like South Carolina did.
In case you haven't noticed, we suck pretty bad.
LSU lost to Miss St by 10 and Missouri by 4.
We lost to UGA and by Bama by our usual blowouts and then got pasted by KY by 4 TDs.
I also believe he can get the job done. The team's regression is concerning. His defense got better and better last season. Something is off. This team would run though a brick wall for him . Now they have hit a brick wall. I am hopeful two weeks will give all a needed breather and a chance to refocus.I’ve calmed down from Saturday night... dang it I still believe Pruitt can be the guy... he’s making it hard though. I really think JG broke the whole team against UK. I still believe the players would run through a wall for Pruitt. Everywhere he’s been the players love him. I think the team knows JG can’t get them where they need to be. The defense played well up until JG melted down against UGA. I mean they quit in the second half against UK and they still only gave up 17 the whole game. Our QBs gave UK 17.I also believe he can get the job done. The team's regression is concerning. The way you talk on here I bet you are really a bish in real life. I had you on ignore for along time but kept seeing people argue one sided and knew it was you. Why don’t you go back to the hole you came from.
Won't the season be over before the early signing date in December? Our recruits either see how badly we need help or they just want to play for a top 10 team. I've seen some quotes, from some of our better recruits, and they say they can't wait to get to UT in January. Players think differently than fans but some people just don't get that.I can’t wait until early signing day. I am ready to get the kids we have signed before the wheels fall off.
True just don’t want 2 more months of negative recruiting against us.Won't the season be over before the early signing date in December? The defense does concern me but college football is going more and more towards a high scoring game every year. UGA has an elite defense and Bama hung 40 on them. I agree we have to get better on defense. Bottom line and I don’t care who disagrees we do not have the horses on defense yet. Too many guys playing out of position. Our DBs are playing two high school wide receivers and another guy nobody recruited but us. I think if we had any kind of pass rush our DBs would be helped out tremendously.
I have been disappointed with the D and decided to look at some trends in the SEC. This info is a little different than just pts allowed and i thought worth sharing.
I have looked at all the SEC vs SEC games in 2016, 2019 and then this year and here is what I found.
2016:
41% scored 30 or more pts in the game played
21% scored 40 or more pts in their game
2019:
41% scored 30 or more pts
22% scored 40 or more pts
2020:
48% scored 30 or more pts
27% scored 40 or more pts
I find it interesting that from 2016-2019 those % didn’t move much at all and keep in mind LSU was a big part of those 2019 higher numbers.
I find it perplexing that the numbers have skyrocketed this year with a league full of inconsistent or down right bad QBs.
