I disagree. I think a loss to a first year coach and team that hasn’t won an SEC game in twenty tries would look terrible to recruits. That’s why I think it’s the biggest because it would be the biggest hit to recruiting. If we beat Arkansas and happen to lose to Auburn and A&M in close games, it wouldn’t be as bad on recruiting. The only way we continue to make strides is through recruiting.Considering Arky and Auburn, maybe even tamu, look about the same and beatable, then no. Those 3 games are pretty interchangeable.
Plus...we're not playing for any specific goal - so just no such thing as "must win" to begin with.

I agree it would look bad, just saying that's not a cliff we'd be falling off either. Auburn and tamu would be right around the corner and aren't much better, if any. 1 or both of those wins would look good. I just don't think any recruits are making snap judgments after a single game against a .500 opponent when other big games remain.
UF is susceptible too...but...ya know.
Is the Arkansas game the most important game of Pruitts head coach career so far? I think so. I believe if he played someone other than JG at QB then it wouldn’t be since fans and recruits would know we’re playing for the future. Since JG is starting (more than likely), it is a must win or I think we will see a lot of fans turn on him and recruiting will take a hit. We would be realistically looking at a 3-4 win season. It is a must win.
They aren't and a loss could hurt our mindset...that would be tested. But a loss fundamentally doesn't change a single thing about the team either. Maybe we buck up like we did after Arky 2015 or UGA game last year. There are no hard and fast rules, no transitive property, and each week is different. No one is saying it would be a positive, but it's not a must-have with so many winnable games left.Games aren’t played in a vacuum though. Losing to Ark would be the 4th in a row and we’d be spiraling down further. Eventually we need to get some momentum back on our side and hopefully it starts with Arkansas.

“JuSt GeT TiReD oF tHe GroUp THinK (on this rival message board)”Bad take on the hills, I agree. Just get tired of the group think. Even on recruiting, which is the section we are in. Some guys that commit are allowed to suck or not be the next Cam Sutton 3*. Maybe they do indeed look like s*** and are lowly rated for a reason. I got ripped for saying that extension we gave Pruitt was a bad idea. I'd love for someone to come in here and say Harrison Bailey looks like complete garbage at practice and there's a reason he's on the bench.
No way would I ever trust #2 to keep me employed as a HC making $4 million a year. Yet, that is probably what Jeremy is going to do. Which tells me somebody above him is recommending it.
Certainly agree a loss has its predictive properties no doubt and it would hurt our remaining chances...though degree varies widely. Margins are important. Winning/losing vs Arky by 1 means very little and changes the remaining outcomes very little. But winning/losing by 20 means a lot more for future likelihoods.agree wtih all this.
and i'll still be the first to say, all those winnable games look less so after a loss to Ark. Ark doesn't look as winnable because of UK.....etc, etc, etc........
Come on man. Of course not. Our coach never discussed flopping. I’m talking about when you are young. I remember my first travel team coach always telling us to go down in the box if we were ever touched. Shoot my ODP coach asked me once why I didn’t go down when I was fouled from behind. I said I wanted to score and thought I could still score. I was probably nine or ten.Played soccer in college and was never taught to flop.
Preach brother! As long as JG doesn't melt down again, I think we beat Arkansas. But therein lies the problem. JG is such a huge question mark. There is no consistency and you have no idea which JG you're going to get from game to game. I don't care if it's Sister Mary's School of Blind Travelling Nuns, we cannot survive turnover monster JG in any game. I really wish Pruitt would play another QB, if for no other reason than my sanity.
Lol nope. Never was told anything of the sort. We had guys that pulled that on the team. I played CAM btw. I'm familiar with some coaches doing that, to your point but I was not ever told to go down on contact. I've always had coaches who taught us to be physical though.Come on man. Of course not. Its a bad look, but there aren't any must wins for Pruitt this year imo. Hes not getting fired bar some wild off the field issue we never saw coming. Next year will or at least should be the year of judgement. Is the Arkansas game the most important game of Pruitts head coach career so far? I think so.
