Everyone was soooooo excited when we hired Chaney, a proven and experienced OC. Now he's the problem. I forget, was he here when Pruitt lost to Georgia State and BYU as well?

Lol yes as a matter of fact he was. And our offense was a disaster in those games. I was happy to have a real coordinator for the first time since 2016 but the analytics show that Chaney is a career bottom tier OC in the SEC

You ever meet someone so bad at decision making they are good? Like if you just do the opposite of whatever they say, you can never go wrong?

That's how I feel about our coaches on QB evaluation.

I'm 100% confident if we recruit over HB without giving him a season to be the starter, he will transfer and be a Heisman contender. And if we go with him or Maurer and lose either of our 21 guys, one of them will go be a Heisman contender.

I just want to be in the room with them and just make sure we do the complete opposite of whatever they want to do. George Costanza style.

What do they show on Pruitt? The guy (I assume) is responsible for hiring him.

It’s just really pisses me off for Bailey solely because they sold him and his family as the future and all of the sudden a year later he isn’t and he’s currently being recruited over without being given the chance to show out...it’s bullshi*
I don’t think this is happening. A lot of speculation. I’ve never heard the Chaney rumor about Bailey except on here. Many VFLs I know said the staff was excited about him and they are excited as well. I think Pruitt has trouble trusting a freshmen QB with limited snaps.

Fromm could do things Eason couldn't. Fromm was a 5* too and had the more developed football IQ. 1 play away from an NC ain't too bad either. Fromm had 27 TDs as a freshman, far eclipsing Eason. Even Eason's last year at Washington wasn't spectacular, though solid.

Buut I do think he majorrrly effed up losing Fields.

Can't believe they had a run of 3 straight 5 star QBs lol. Doubt they pull that again. Meanwhile, I'd be ecstatic if we could pull just a single 5* qb...though Simpson appears in that range...so far.
Bailey got his 5th... Finally

Are we really shocked that this staff doesn’t know what a good QB looks like?

Am I shocked that one of the most highly compensated offensive coordinators in football doesn't know what good QB looks like? If that's true, then yes I am. You'd think 1.6M a year might buy the ability to evaluate a QB.

But if it's true that HB isn't as good as billed, and it's true that Chaney didn't actively recruit HB at UGA, then maybe Chaney is better at this than you think.

So HB is an afterthought? Is that the consensus now? Sad that they won’t give the kid a chance and seems Chaney has thrown him aside.

Lol just message board assumptions and freak out. Kid didn’t have a spring or fall camp. Coaches don’t throw out freshman sometimes when they have those and people expected they would throw him out there in anything but garbage duty? The real head scratcher is why Maurer hasn’t gotten more rep not Bailey. Maurer brought life to the offense last year. He brought more options to table.

Basically have people freaking out over AP opinion that in today’s game you need someone with legs to make a play when it breaks down. He is right and that is what coaches lean toward now but it doesn’t mean the staff thinks HB is a bust.

The argument that our coaching staff leans toward a mobile QB over a pocket QB makes no sense whatsoever. Chaney started Fromm over Fields and watched him transfer to Ohio State and become a Heisman Trophy candidate.

Just speculation but I don't think Chaney has the final say on who the QB is. And if he did, it most likely wouldn't be JG.

I can't imagine he was just thrilled with the idea of having to run the ball on third and long 5 times against Bama. Could be wrong.

they also had two bowling balls for RB. Our guys cant run beyond 21 yards.

I’m completely ambivalent about tomorrow. Don’t even really care. I guess I’m already checked out.
This is really how I feel too. I was done with the season after the losses to GA St and BYU, then started to believe in the fools gold close last season. Then the utter collapses.

At this point I'm ambivalent, show me two seasons of solid growth and I'll feel comfortable allowing myself to become emotionally invested again. I"ll always be a fan, but being emotionally invested in the program isn't healthy anymore. Sad to say but we've almost become Vanderbilt with a fanbase.
