yeah, i tend to agree. but that year 2 for Kirby was a big year, and a lot like this season, they had a GREAT defense...all those upper classmen that stuck around that 2nd year instead of leaving for the NFL was absolutely HUGE in the assention of that program, and again, it made the offenses' job a little easier to know that the staff was very comfortable putting that defense on the field in basically any situation.

and once they won that ND game.....you couuld pretty much tell EAson was done. the kid from Warner Robins was going to be "the guy"...the kid from the pacfic northwest...'never heard of him'.............lol.

Sounds like Kirby needs to stop trying to write the perfect story and just win those kind of games when he can..Jacob Eason was the ticket

Fromm over Eason is reason enough to fire Kirby. Yes he was a better game manager, but they needed more than that to win it all. He played not to lose in a year they could have won it all. And he sacrificed Fields in the process, who's better than any uga QB in a long time.

It’s just really pisses me off for Bailey solely because they sold him and his family as the future and all of the sudden a year later he isn’t and he’s currently being recruited over without being given the chance to show out...it’s bullshi*

Maybe @snowvols can chime in. He has seen Bailey play a lot and I just cannot imagine HB being recruited over at this point.

Jeremy is really a good guy. I spoke with him about the kid that we helped and how it fell thru the cracks. It was in response to a text I shouldn’t have sent due to JG frustration but it wasn’t about Jarrett. I did tell him we need him to make it. He’s really trying but afterwards I spoke with a friend of his and this is an issue but it also makes these guys great as well. He is very stubborn and doesn’t think he’s wrong. I get it and have the same attribute but have learned to trust certain people. I hope for him the best. We all need a win. Go Vols.

I'll pass, but I assume it's posters. Don't know why that makes you upset because no one on this site knows enough or has the influence to say if Salter will surpass Bailey. He is just the hot new commitment in a season with QB issues.

It just boils down to you have to continue to keep recruiting the best talent you can and forget everyone’s feelings. You can’t be afraid to tell them we think you’re great but if you go down or don’t play as expected we’re playing this guy who is just as good if not better. Sometimes you just have to roll those dice. For the record, I really really like Harrison and sincerely want him to succeed

well, so far, it's worked out ok for him. sure, he's not wont he big one, but he's been in the big one and in the big time pretty much every year.

what would be interesting is if OSU and UGA met in a play off or NC game......that'd be worth watching and i might honestly root for OSU in such a match up.............ugh.

Salter’s a helluva prospect! That’s why we recruited him! That’s why we recruited Bailey. We’ll keep doing it until Gucci shuts down the program.

My point was that people are saying the staff is already planning to use Salter and Simpson over him, and I don't think that's the case.

Because VQ doesn't have a squeaky clean record about player development. Their expertise is in recruiting, and player development is a whole other thing.

That’s also a fair point.stating that is even more reason to let the kid play and get valuable reps over a senior who has failed for 4 straight years who we continue to play hoping for a different outcome.
