I don’t even think you have to dumb down the playbook. We’ve already done that to the extreme to play JG. I think that had hurt us more than anything. We are very easy to defend and we’re predictable.

I say open it up as much as possible and let Bailey do his thing. People will be excited to play with him. Everyone would be better from it... should have made a change awhile ago...
Unless the team has already checked out. Even then it's a perfect time to hit the reset button and purge those who no longer want to be there.

i think they know it hurts. there's an opportunity cost associated with sucking at football no matter what the stadium looks like.

just look at enrollment numbers at places that have experienced success at a high level over the past decade+.....Auburn has seen enrollments increase, 24k in 2008 to over 30k in 2020.
Alabama...27k in 2008 to 38k in 2019
Florida's enrollment is on the up, but guess what, it took a bit of dip between Meyer and mullen...it's uncanny....52k in 2008 to a low of 49k in 2011, now back up to 58k in 2020.
LSU was steady since 2010 at around 30k/year....then, the past two years, over 35k....
Even UGA's, which aren't near as significant as some of these mentioned, was steady at 34k/year from 2010 til 2015....then it's bumped up every year since to now 38k/year.

Tennesse...27k 2008...30k 2020...

so the losses over time are significant....our competition is seeing exteme growth over the last 12 years, some averaging +10k per year increases now vs. then.

whereas we're at +3k/year, which is organic growth at best.

and you're not gonna convince me that those programs having good/solid/elite programs dont' have anyhthing to do with that.

It helps schools a lot to have winning teams. Clemson has become a national school due to football success.

Clemson's football success coincides with strong city and campus growth over Columbia, USC

I’ve seen a lot of talk about Pruitt taking over the 4th qt being the change we saw at Arkansas and perhaps he did but let’s be honest that game dictated the change. The defense played great the first half and the game plan was working to perfection. Once JG went out it Became clear the game was going to be lost without forcing a TO on defense and thus we saw the change. I doubt who was calling the defense mattered as the original game plan had to change
well that's pretty convenient.

i don't htink the defense was "great" in the 3rd qtr. they scored twice and took the lead. the offense was putrid, don't get me wrong, but we got no pass rush whatsoever in the 3rd qtr, and then all the sudden in the 4th qtr, we're all over Franks.....

maybe it was urgency. and if that's the case, then that's even more an indictment in my book, because the damage was done in the 3rd qtr and goes against what we've been told about coaching aggressively and coaching to win.

either way..........it doesn't say much about who we have calling plays on defense.

yep. that's another one you could probably track real easy and draw a conclusion that football success was the primer.

so while butts in seats is tangible, visible evidence....the reality is the university and local economy have felt it over time.

Sure the D was bad in the 3rd quarter but all I am saying is it was clear that the game was over without the D forcing a TO and that was why we saw the aggressive style

Freeze just signed a long term contract extension with Liberty. Based on comments he will be making 3 Million a year and is locked in through 2026. I don't think he's going anywhere until the job of his dreams becomes available. Everyone can back off the ledge a little bit now.
Scott Frost did the same the beginning of his last season at UCF.

But there wasn't any word on his buyout. I doubt he signed a new contract that was going to lock him into the job when he is the big name out there right now.

I think a lot could be forgiven of Pruitt if he even made an ATTEMPT to try something new on offense. Listen. If you TRY a true freshman and he sucks, YOU HAVE A VALID EXCUSE! He's still maturing!

But trotting a 5th year JG out there makes you look incompetent and stubborn as a coach!

Nah we forgave him for vandy and Ga state.

I doubt Bryce does, he’s had a really down year.
Bryce has honestly played well he just has been very close to some big TOs and can’t finish on the ball that’s what I’m most shocked about honestly... I thought we’d be one of the more opportunistic defenses in the country coming into the season with the experience we have...

I see comments like this from some people and I wonder what game you guys were watching. We were going to lose that game whether JG was in the game or not. He got injured on a failed 3rd down conversion. Before we got the ball back again, we were trailing 14-13, and they had all the momentum, having scored 14 unanswered points to begin the second half. We had showed absolutely ZERO ability to move the ball through the air. That was a losing game plan that was installed by a coaching staff that was terrified of what their starting quarterback would do if they allowed him to actually throw a forward pass.

I’m sure we can find a reason to fire Pruitt with cause. With all the covid protocols, he’s sure to have screwed something up at some point behind the scenes. He sure as hell did in public getting that fine...
Future coaches run from institutions that do that... as if our administration issues aren’t already enough deterrent
