Meets all the arbitrary checklist points that a place like USCe WOULD use to hire a HC.Read a couple of things that Napier is the 1st choice at South Carolina. He went to Furman and spent many years at Clemson so he knows the state. He also has SEC experience at Bama.
I wasn’t just basing that on AV’s post.
Combining 2 losing staffs, does that equal 1 competent staff? So, could UT really be considering this?
Bobo at OC/QB
Jay at RB
Tee at WR
(Who is SC's OL coach?)
Osovet at TE
Rocker at DL
Felton at LB
T. Robinson at DB
Muschamp at DC
Neidemeyer at Special Teams (or split linebacking duties with him and Felton and make another position coach the Sp teams coach)
So you think even if UT gets taken to the woodshed by Vandy that nothing happens to Pruitt, correct? To clarify, I didn't say recruiting is tanking. I was just making the point that recruits are watching. They expected UT to be taking a step forward this year, and things u-turned. So recruits are looking to see how UT handles the rest of the season. They're listening to what the players say, especially the guys who'll be their teammates. And they're watching to see if guys hit the portal, because that will say something, too.
The best thing that could happen for the Vols this weekend is to play HB, let him throw and if nothing else, try new things and have some fun. Nobody at UT is having any fun, and this is not lost on recruits.
Last year, the SRs turned things around. This year, it's the young guys' turn. HB and Hyatt-- it starts there.

What if they were guaranteed to get Freeze? I know the answer, still had to ask. We'll be dogs in three of our remaining games, we face two top 10 teams-- one of them is the Gators-- and Vandy gives UT their best effort. A lot of factors go into it, but at this point, it's hard to see a bad end to a bad season shocking Randy Boyd into going against his AD and making a knee-jerk decision neither wants to make this year.
This offense has looked more like a group going through the motions for some time. Is invited they aren't having fun. If I'm the coach I'm sitting the entire team down and telling them this is a reset. Give the reigns to the young guys and tell them to have fun, learn and get better for next year.
With the uncertainty surrounding athletics I'm not sure we make a move next year if we don't see improvement, I feel like Pruitt's going to get a few more years, whether we like it or not and a good argument could be made it's for the best. Hard for me to say that but I've started to look through a logic lens at this team instead of an emotional fan lens. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.
Thanks! I’ll sit back and see how they rearrange the chairs on the Titanic. We'll be dogs in three of our remaining games, we face two top 10 teams-- one of them is the Gators-- and Vandy gives UT their best effort. Maybe. I was just spit-balling with who might be possibilities. Maybe none are an upgrade. Maybe Muschamp would be a pain for Pruitt. It seems like T-Rob is a good recruiter. The USCe offense hasn't been the problem this year, that's for sure. They just don't have a ton of talent.Combining 2 losing staffs, does that equal 1 competent staff?
