i think TN fans are tired of a lot of things.

tired of losing period.

tired of losing to Vandy...1 time is 1 time too many...we've done it enough to last a couple lifetimes over the past 10 years.

tired of coaching searches

these things go hand in hand, but i have wondered if the sheer volume of losing over the past 10 ears has numbed many to what's expectd, vs. what's been realistic....especially at the end of some of these coaches' tenures, and beginning of the new guy's....

once it's determined the current guy sucks enough to be fired, chances are you've seen evidence of suck for a couple seasons....fire the guy...chances are the program isn't in good enough shape to do anything of consequence for at least a couple years. so for every replaced coach, figure minimum of 4 years of suck, or close to it in total.

and we've done that 3 times. that's a lot of suck....

It isn't just that we sucked, it is the rubbing our faces in it afterward that is the really bad part. Our last coach came up to Neyland the next year with our biggest rival and smoked cigars with the bammers and it got posted on social media, all while we are still sending him paychecks. Kiffin came in as the OC at Bama and beat us a few times. We lost to Muschamp and McElwain at UF. We can't even make it past the thrid quarter against UGA anymore...and that is on a good day.

It's been brutal and painful, to say the least.

I don't have any specific examples to point to, but I think the take on Pruitt and his offense is slightly off. I gather from hearing past interviews and reading articles that he actually wants to have an offense that dials up the explosive pass plays and makes chunk gains by pushing the ball downfield. I think it probably frustrates him as much or more than us to watch our "offense" these days. I get the impression that he is more upset when our QB's don't take shots downfield and that's at least partly why JG has been getting the call this season.

Now I don't think that its entirely the other QB's faults. I think ball security is obviously stressed as the most important factor and I think those guys are probably so scarred about even the thought of what will come their way if they turn it over they are gun shy on taking shots downfield. For example, after HB's checkdown drive against Ark I think Pruitt was more upset he didn't pick a spot and take at least a deep shot over the middle or sideline at some point till it was too late and he forced the pick in the endzone.

I'm probably way off base here, but IMO I don't think Pruitt wants to run 40+ times a game, I think he wants to push the ball downfield in the pass game and be explosive, we just don't have the capacity to do it right now consistently. Whether its because most of our WRs can't get separation, our protection isn't good enough or our QBs dont trust themselves to execute and let it fly and risk it. Probably a combo of all those factors. Feel like I just see too many play calls that are designed to take a shot deep and for whatever reason the ball never gets out there.

TL;DR - I'm reaching here and hoping for the best, please save us #MariettaTatterTosser5
Possibly. If he wants all options available, don’t wait until 4 minutes are remaining.

well, i will say this, no way you fire him w/out having who's next all but a sure thing. the problem with that is, if phil is the lone ranger on that process, there's zero guarantees that everyone buys in to one he's tabbed as "next man up"....if @LAVol is correct, there's enough egos on the other side that could thwart such a move.

there's a lot of land mines in that process, especially politically....i'd almost think before he got started, he'd have to have green lights from ut admin and a large portion of the money behind the move....

in merit though, i do agree, you don't fire him, and then start looking....but i think that is what would happen. it may be easy enough to get everone going in the same direction on firing him....not so much on who we hire.

which has always been our problem....
There's more than one person that has to approve hires at this level. I really doubt UT could have someone signed, sealed and delivered while Pruitt is still under contract. That wouldn't be a good look for UT because you have to show a certain amount of professionalism. Currie was trying to do that and we all know how that ended.

Honestly just hoping for a semblance of a passing game. Decisive throws, using the middle of the field. Getting a rhythm on offense, etc

Realistic expectations
Pass for 200+
1 interception or less
score 28+

never look back

if HB does the above, he's done more than our 5th year senior in 90% of his games

Immediately! And it was after similar rhetoric from Dooley about Bray not being ready. Fans expressed concern because of his weight and lankiness. Now he had the advantage of enrolling early (actually participated in previous bowl practice) and traditional spring/Fall camp work...but the same held true that the starter wasn’t getting it done.

Listened to Josh Ward on Locked on PC. Normally skip this PC, as it tends to be devoid of any riveting info. Cool story bro, my background is radio & communication. Ward is very well thought of & respected. Listening, had a blurb from Urban Meyer. Lot's of underlying implication.

Show absolutely lambasted the organized 8, who chose not to help out & bigger picture. It isnt a player problem, it isnt a coach problem. It's a culture problem. Also, talked about the buyouts for Muschump & Jeremy being identical.

I've been vocal about not rushing to make a move this year. If the coaches arent on same page & culture really is that bad? And this team comes out and doesnt compete, as I fully expect them too. Then this **** show doesn't make it to 2021. Meaning, it's worth every penny of $13 to purge the toxicity.
The number is probably closer to $25-$30 Million when you consider buyouts for the remaining assistants plus money for a complete new staff. It's much bigger than most think. Granted, it's not all upfront but it's money that UT will still be responsible for going forward.

For me the most important thing Pruitt said in that press conference was the HB had improved his command during practice last week. I'm hoping that means command of the offense (i.e. understanding it and knowing where to go with the football) and he will be the starter on Saturday.
acc to BRA, its assertiveness which comes from experience and all that fun ****

When does the hammer come down on LSU? Basketball cheating, the reports they were paying players on football that came out a few weeks ago and now sexual assaults.

Report: LSU ignored sexual assault complaints

Miss st will lose scholarships, LSU will have to forego 15 minutes on one official visit and Bama will get awarded 5 extra scholarships.
