That Justin Hunter injury still haunts me. He was going to be special even at the next level imo.

Dooley might have stuck around an extra 2-3 years if Hunter hadn't gotten hurt in 2011 and Da'Rick hadn't gotten booted from the team in 2012. We likely go bowling both years (would have beaten UK in 2011 and surely found 1-2 more wins in 2012 even with the defense being as bad as it was) and IIRC that was Hart's criteria for firing him. He almost kept him in 2012 and was going to had he gotten us bowl eligible.

Then Bray comes back as a senior in 2013 to improve his draft stock and Dooley fires Sal and replaces him with someone decent. Of course, Dooley still ultimately gets fired because he sucks, but I think he could have lasted 5 seasons here at least. It takes a special kind of terrible to go 3 and out at UT.

Losing Wilcox as DC was a huge detriment. Guy was seriously underrated while he was at UT.

all this talk about Chaney with Bray as QB - I always got frustrated with that offense when they would routinely, ROUTINELY get to a 3rd and 3 or 3rd and 2 situation and Bray would heave a deep bomb for an incompletion.

Maybe it wasn’t as frequent as I remember, but as soon as Pruitt hired Chaney I had flashbacks to that kind of play calling.

I think that we have talent, but they are young mostly. Most of our best players are freshmen and sophomores, but unfortunately we still aren't playing the freshman. I'm hoping that changes on Saturday.
