Both Dooley and Butch disproved that towards the end of their stints. Dooley was beating out William and Mary for some commits. Butch had a top 5 class lined up for 2017, but that was doomed by the UMass game. Pruitt salvaged that one out of the 60’s. There was a time that UT sold itself, but that ended about the same time as the Recruiting sites started issuing star ratings. We have it easier than some others, but the kids need to believe in what’s happening to sign up.Recruiting is the lifeblood of this program, that's indisputably true, but I'm of the mind that any coach can regularly land Top 15 classes here and for that reason I don't make a part of my calculation for what I want in the next head coach.
I think, had Butch been retained, that his final class would have ended up higher than where Pruitt got it.Both Dooley and Butch disproved that towards the end of their stints. basically just slamming Pruitt and Chaney.Cliffs?
I honestly think Fulmer is intentionally using the media and especially Hubbs to push his true agenda. In public, he’s 100% behind Pruitt, but I think behind the scenes he knows he’s done and won’t get us where we need to be. I think he’s trying make it so toxic that Pruitt decides to leave on his own for a negotiated buyout. Everyone wins with this scenario...Pruitt can go back to Bama, we don’t have to pay 13 million to send him back there, and we get a proven coach (hopefully Freeze).
take away the cupcakes the last couple of years and it would probably be even worse.
But its a pretty severe regression from year 2. Which isn't good. Not really
SEC stats only
Offense:
2018- 20.25 pts per game
2019-22.24 pts per game
2020- 20.67 pts per game
defense-
2018- 36.75 pts per game
2019- 24.5 pts per game
2020- 31.5 pts per game
so while this year is a step backward the offense and defense is performing better on the scoreboard than in Pruitts first year
You're missing out on the most fun this football team will give us all year! Hop on the #FreezeTrainI feel like I'm in the minority, but the Freeze speculation talk is annoying to me. I don't see it happening, certainly not this year. Next year a poor record should result in a change, and Fulmer would be forced to make a change. But COVID year 2020, nope not happening. Don't even like to entertain the thought of a change.
Very true...it's not like my golf game will ever now what clubs I am hitting!!!Actually you would use that money for new golf clubs and put it towards season tickets with me, @InVOLuntary, and @volatil, if we hire Freeze.
