If we just lose to the big 3 we play though, that's still 9 wins + a bowl every season. And even with sub 8 win seasons we've had top 20 classes the last 3 seasons. The hire HC will have almost immediate success here, of that I am certain.

Hire him next week and he has a month to keep the class together and recruit some ballers for his own system. I bet we win 7-9 next year. If we keep Pruitt, I’ll say 4-6.

Eh not really. I know everything is not ok and I support the program 100% regardless if things are good or bad...they don’t need to sugar coat anything to get my $. Some VFL’s are pissed and guess what there are also a lot who lIke JP and think we need to stay the course with him. Opinions on that matter are like assholes...and you know what they say about those.

AV doesn't deserve to be attacked for info he brings to a MB, or for circumstances clearly beyond his control. He doesn't hire or fire coaches. If you're frustrated, fine, be frustrated, but don't take it out on someone else.

As far as I understand, Freeze could be a done deal relatively easily if we wanted him because he wants us.

And fans are prophesizing the guaranteed success of a coach that never won an SEC championship.... Maybe Hugh Freeze comes in and lights it up, but maybe he doesn't. I'm not all in on Freeze like most. I don't see him as a guarantee. I don't see any truly proven coach willing or wanting to come be our coach. That doesn't mean I'm all for Pruitt, but the next hire, even Freeze, will be a risk. But I also firmly believe the university will keep Pruitt another year, and nothing fans say or do will change that.

No offense but maybe you’re too risk averse. There’s no guarantee with ANY coach. Maybe we hire Urban Meyer and he burns out after 1 season and has more chest pains. Who knows? But you gotta try because Pruitt is not head ball coach material.

People like him cling to the one post that makes AV and other helpful folks look wrong. It validates them in some way. They tend to ignore all of the other ones that were proven to be correct and especially those that do not fit their personal agendas.

To expand on that...you have to look at comments given the time they were made and the circumstances around them...which can change. I would still say JG is on a short leash...and Ill stick with that comment i made when i made it. But just because someone is on a short leash doesn’t mean that the alternative at that given moment is better than JG. You have all seen what BM and JT have been able to do (or not do for that matter). After having seen them now would you have trotted them out there over JG...I think not. HB at the time just hadn’t gotten the reps or enough time to be confident. So we stuck with JG at that moment in time.

I think the thing that has most fans (myself included) willing to jump on board with Hugh is that the WR & QB talent is on the team right now for his style of offense to be explosive in his first season.

Wideman, Tillman, Hyatt, Keyton, Holiday, Calloway, Gray, Small, Bailey....Hugh takes one off-season of camp and this team is north of 30PPG without a doubt.

When I think about JT, I think about the dime he threw to Calloway in the South Carolina game, to be pulled the next series for........JG
I don't think about the only chance he got to play this year... IT was already over when he was brought in, Kentucky had already smelled blood in the water and no one was bringing this team back from the dead

Also take this into consideration when you start talking about someone stepping up and writing a check to buy out this staff.

The older you get the more risk averse you become in all aspects of life. A VERY large portion of our largest above board boosters when it comes to football are the guys that were in their prime during the Fulmer days. Where does that put them now...old and risk averse. You think they want to step up and write a check after what they have seen happen since Fulmers departure? UT needs some younger guys to step up to the plate or some of the older ones to (now take this with a grain of salt) to head off to the pasture and let their offspring run with the reigns.
