Isn’t Louisville 3-6?
He inherited a dumpster fire from Petrino. Lost at ND 12-7. Played 2 games with 5 defensive starters out with Covid. Very good offensive mind. They are scoring 30 points a game and are playing 2 guards at offensive tackle. All Petrino left was a handful of offensive skill players.

The money argument is BS.
1) this university has more than enough money to fire this clown and hire a new coach.

2) it will cost way more money to: fire some assistants, pay above market value to get coaches to coach with lame duck Pruitt for a year, fire all of them, fire Pruitt, hire a new coach and assistants.

Fire Pruitt, hire freeze, and see which assistants he keeps around. It’ll be much cheaper
You should be happy as a pig in sh^t today bud. You got your wish last night and now you're spending UT's money.

The body of work speaks for itself. Throw in personnel and other issues, and you have to question the fit.

And when someone keeps digging that hole with two shovels, you have to question the motivation. But any idea of a negotiated buyout is fool's gold. He has a sweetheart contract and no incentive to renegotiate terms.

Has it been that bad behind the scenes @LA Vol 👀 yesterday when he made the comment about it “not being his job” we seen why Fulmer has been doing all the leg work for him when it comes to events and PR moves..that comment pissed a lot of people off yesterday.

You don't move on to a coach that is only going to be here for 3 years also. Atleast Pruitt will upgrade the roster 1 more year
You don’t know that a new coach is just a 3 year guy. What we do know is that this guy sucks and I disagree that he will upgrade the roster. Let the new coach come in and still have a year with guys like Eric gray and Henry T before they go to the NFL, and give the new guy a chance to develop all these young players Pruitt can’t seem to develop/get on the field

Pruitt's tone seems so resolved to the situation and accepting--kind of like he is judy going through the motions. I don't like it. Oh and wait, we seem to have an offense that performs at a level of just "going through the motions" in second halves. Go figure. How bad could it be not to take the risk to shake the roster up now?

We have seen we have seen 3 coaches since 2010. We know what a 3 year guy is.

That Pruitt answer about the fans really nails the coffin IMO. Can't stand up to the smallest of heat with his awful coaching and the QB stuff

Thing that does it for me is he’s so arrogant as a head coach that he won’t accept or acknowledge his own faults because he thinks he’s made none.instead he blames everyone else including his OC,Back up freshman qb’s,the defense and the offense amd stil chooses to ignore that the QB he trots out each week doesn’t even have 10 Td’s for a full season!...like where is the logic?

Yes. I don't get the 'its either Freeze or give Pruitt another year' crowd. The dude doesn't have it. You don't keep him around to tank the program for another year. We've seen how that plays out. Plus, there are quite a few very solid candidates out there right now and at least 3 that have heavy ties to the state. I'm all for giving one of the very successful coaches at the P5 level a shot vs giving Pruitt another year. If we can't hire Freeze this year, then what makes anyone think we could/would hire 'insert big name HC' next year? We wouldn't. We'd just be picking from a new crop of P5 HCs.

This is the year to make a change, Freeze or no Freeze. All the P5 coaches with ties to UT just make the decision that much more obvious.
I was in the "keep Pruitt unless you can get Freeze" camp. I hoped HB would start last night and finish the season. I've changed my mind. Pruitt is done and it looks like he's screwing with us. The next hire doesn't have to be Freeze but I do want someone that's had some success in the SEC.... it's going to be a short list. The roster is better than it's been anytime during the last 3 coaching searches and I think TN should be able to attract a big name coach this time.

Our roster is being upgraded. If you don’t want to believe that, please go back and look at the mighty 2017 recruiting class. Butch’s last full class coming off of back-to-back 9-4 seasons.

But, he’s not playing enough of the young guys. He wants them to be more prepared and execute in practice before they do it in the game. Major issue with that is we desperately need the speed and talent on the field. Like, now. Right now. Play them and let them grow. We’re not playing for anything of significance anyway.

By all means if you can get Hugh then go get him. ASAP. If not, even as bad it’s been, I’d keep Pruitt for another year to see what he can do. But guys like Beamer and Napier don’t excite me.

I’m telling y’all, Pruitt has checked out
No reason to keep him the last two games
I don't think that's the case at all. He's too competitive to just throw in the towel.

I think he's at a loss for answers on how to fix this because he's been successful everywhere else. I think there's a lot of blame going around and, while he's taken his fair share of it, he doesn't have the experience or know how on how to fix it...yelling at the problem doesn't change things.

Text I got from someone booster adjacent:
“Looking more and more likely a change is made. Gotta get a sense of where the top coaches are in regards to this job: call Fickell, Freeze, Campbell, etc. and gauge their interest. Belief inside the administration is Tee would be a more palatable choice than a mid-major coach with a spotty record.”

Again, I’m not saying lock this in stone or bet your mortgage on it - but I like to share the gossip.
Tee should have been hired the first time over this gump. I truly believe he would have been more successful than Pruitt. But I don’t think fans will be willing to give any more patience with a new head coach.

Gotta keep swinging. Eventually we will hit
No we need to be in coaching search mode but only make a move if it guarantees success. Otherwise I would rather see if we can get a good QB. A good QB with this team would be atleast a 4 win team. 4 wins doesn't cut it but allows us to by time for the right coach go come along
