Hiring Tee would be a mistake. We need a proven winning coach. Tee is a lateral move.
Tee is not a lateral move. He would be a step back. He hasn't even called plays as an offensive coordinator, and you guys want to make him head coach just based off his name. You give his bio and resume to any other candidate and you guys would be in full fledged revolt against Fulmer and the UT administration if they even mentioned him as a candidate for the position.

It's so dumb. Freeze WOULD come here. Meyer would possibly come here if they tried. Those are about the only two holy **** hires out there that are realistic. And don't tell me Meyer wouldn't come here. He would.

We do this every time.

Urban Meyer would never come here. Urban Meyer and Hugh Freeze are not the same level of coach.

Only 2 jobs UM would take now:

Texas - money and recruiting base
USC - recognition and recruiting base

Most likely but if the money is right there is a chance.

Look I love Tee he’s an all time Vol but please god no.... he’s not going to lead you to anything and it will get ugly when you have to run him out of town in 3 years and look unloyal to your own. It’s just dumb. Freeze is option 1 by a mile and I mean a country mile. IF he’s out. You go after Fickell, Campbell, Napier, Caldwell etc. no Scott Satterfield (becuase Louisville looks so good in the trash acc) No Fuente because he’s certified ass. No retread loser ass coaches. No Doc Holliday cause he’s old af. Y’all really like losing don’t you? At least you have hope with Fickell, Campbell, Caldwell, Napier. A retread loser like Fuente and Doeren and Satterfield would be worse and totally tone deaf and the fans would not support. It’s like we have a bunch of low IQ mouth breathers running this place. Unbelievable.

Benching JG and starting HB is the answer. At least try it.

At 2-5, JG does not give us the best chance to win.
JG would have been benched during the first half of Kentucky by 95% of other head coaches and never played again. Yet Pruitt keeps playing him after every blow out loss. It goes to show Pruitt is not ready for this job. And then we see Bailey and realize what a screw up job he has been doing.

Man I get the Freeze or better before we get rid of JP, but at this point you gotta look at the team/kids--- I know Tee would be a kick to the nuts, but wouldn't you think he'd at least put the best talent on the field and wouldn't be afraid to open it up? Definitely the best short-term option? It would initially save us some money that could be used a bit later to get who we want, but Tee would definitely salvage the talent and I would think keep the recruits I would think... Spin the VFL now back coaching testament ? JMO

Agree 1000% but also Dabo had never called plays

Notre Dame may be on that list, but hard to recruit there so maybe not. I doubt he comes back to the SEC.

@LA Vol could speak more to this because I think his sources bridge over to the academic side and the decision makers who have to consider the whole university, but Freeze would really have to win over a ton of people to get this job.

It will not be handed to him.
No we just hand the job over to unqualified candidates

Do you have to click on the link in a Twitter post to view it or does it automatically show on VN?

That part has changed since I switched from chrome to duck. Chrome automatically populates a tweet but duck makes you open it
Duck won't open a Twitter post for me even if I do click on it. I can view Twitter posts linked to Volnation with Chrome with no issues (don't have to click on it).

Key thing for Dabo is that he’s a passionate guy that loves clemson and wants them to be great. I think Tee would bring that same energy. Head coach isn’t supposed to be a play caller. They’re supposed to hire the right guys, recruit, and motivate

What? Read my post again. My first words was Tee would be a mistake. What part of that is so difficult to understand that I don't want Tee as head coach?

My worry with Tee would be, who will he bring in?

I mean I’m a fan of VFLs, but not many are in coaching to pull from. Most Tee’s connections were with USC and both Heltons are running programs.

We’ve resorted to wanting to hire Tee Martin.... another coordinator with no HC experience. My lord this program is dead.
I wonder what it feels like to be a fan of a program that cares about winning. I've spent a lot of time and money on Tennessee football.... And the administration just doesn't give a **** about winning or putting out a good product.

Pruitt's tone seems so resolved to the situation and accepting--kind of like he is judy going through the motions. I don't like it. Oh and wait, we seem to have an offense that performs at a level of just "going through the motions" in second halves. Go figure. How bad could it be not to take the risk to shake the roster up now?

His body language and attitude sure make one think he doesn't want to be here anymore. Guess that's okay to act that way when you have 12 million either way.
