Urban Meyer would never come here. Urban Meyer and Hugh Freeze are not the same level of coach.

Only 2 jobs UM would take now:

Texas - money and recruiting base
USC - recognition and recruiting base

I think Urban will eventually coach at USC and will probably win a title there. He's going to try and get in the conversation for GOAT college coach by winning championships at 3 different schools. Can't match Saban for sheer numbers of titles.

There can be plenty said about Urban, but the dude is competitive as hell and clearly knows how to win. It’s that whole “ethics” thing he has trouble with.

You don't hire a guy as HC who recently failed at a school as the OC with a talented roster. Peter Principle applies. Tee is valuable based on what he is doing. If he wants to do more than that he needs to go to a G-5 or lesser P-5 conference to do it since he failed at it in Cali. That can be his redemption.

You do hire guys who have been successful as HC's, preferably with offense backgrounds since that is where the game is today along with the foreseeable future. There are a number of them who would take this job if offered. The roster is improved and a future quality QB has been identified. The fan base wants a winner and will support. The facilities are top notch and the school itself is good and located in a metro area in the best conference.

Get it done. Every day that goes by makes it worse.

Trask or Jones neither have a really strong arm . It's timing and placement sure it helps to have a strong arm but if you don't know when to throw and accuracy it doesn't help.

Yup arm strength is kinda overrated when accuracy and touch is more important on 90% of passes. I mean, an inept deep arm would be a hamper but I don't think HB has that. He's capable. A lack of zip is worse, but it seems his ball has fine velocity for most passes. His strengths are more important anyway. Jmo

THe university doesn’t care about the football program. I honestly think they wouldn’t mind if the football program folded all together.

Then there’s a whole bunch of guys in this third tier that I don’t think are worth separating.

For the first time this season, I'm not so sure he will start. Putting in a backup with 7 minutes left said something imo. I think 50/50 JG won't start.

Who will it be? Maurer and JTS seem out rn, so HB could be next up.

I keep thinking they and perhaps even Fulmer will go the NFL re-tread route. O'Brien or Marrone because no buyouts and familiarity. Haslams love them some failed NFL coaches.

If I was playing on this UT team I would be calling a meeting of everyone getting playing time and get them on board with unanimously going to the coaching staff and saying that if they refuse to start Bailey then we all are opting out for the remainder of the year.
