I can't wait to see this team without Jarrett Guarantano. I'm not saying the losses/offensive struggles have been all his fault but he's had a lot to do with several of the losses and lack of offensive production.

I saw some of his games while he was at MSU and I didn't have to Google who he helped get drafted. I bet the ones that's responded to any of my posts asking why Doug Marrone would be a good coach here, had to google something about him to support their side. He might be the answer for us but I've not found anything that makes me believe he would be.

I didn't have to Google, Marrone, I remember when he coached here and have always noticed his rise in coaching. Maybe an age thing or I just follow everyone with a UT connection, obsessively. Still, he wouldn't be my first choice, but I think he can coach and UT always gets a top 20 recruiting class, no matter the coach. Hire some recruiters and we could do worse and have.

I'm down with Freeze, tho. I can't see it happening until next year, even at 2-8 (we will beat Vandy, tho). Maybe, Fulmer will shock me and take a Mulligan if he can wrap up Freeze. I really doubt it

30-5 the past 3 years. Fickell might have actually gleamed some things from his teacher (Urban).

He's a defensive guy, but clearly understands the importance of offense. Since his 1st season they have averaged 35, 30, and 41 ppg. Pruitt ain't gotten over 24 yet 😑

I knew he was here at 1 time but I don't follow or keep up with assistant coaches after they leave U.T.
I also don't remember Syracuse being that good when he was there, especially not good enough for me to remember him and think "I would love it, if we could get that guy in Knoxville"

And I was ok with Pruitt getting another year, up until his press conference Saturday night. He called out the kicker and the secondary but he still insisted that JG is the best QB on the roster. It's crazy and it looks like he's screwing with the fans.

Haha yup. Tho CBJ was handed the keys to a legit program from Kelly (Cinci was just bad before he came). They went 12-1 the year before Butch took over and went 4-8.

Fickell took over a 4-8 team from Tuberville who lost more games every year he was there and went 4-8, 11-2, 11-3, 8-0. He seems pretty dang legit.
