Yep, if Herman gets fired he would be fine here. He had Ed Oliver and D' Eriq King coming to Houston.

Why do you want this to happen? It’s so apparent you don’t think highly of this university. You attack other posters because they don’t think highly of a COACH. It’s like you are rooting for a terrible hire. At least with some guys Napier/Chadwell you can hope for the unknown. You know with Fuente though you are getting a below average recruiter and someone who couldn’t win big in the acc of all conferences. Why aren’t you talking about Tom Herman? They have similar paths and he can actually recruit? IF you are a fan you should be rooting for a Freeze, Campbell, Fickell hire then maybe Napier, Herman. Fuente should not be on our radar at all.

He knows the financial situation all programs are in right now...why not offer him some type of escalator pay/contract so we are finishing buyouts and then paying him more each year? Pay him $2m first year, $3 second, then $4.5 and $4.5 after--- not specifically, but just an example. Guarantee it.

I was the biggest Fuente fan alive last Time but I’d take Napier over him now. I’d be excited about that hire


But I agree with @Kingston Vol on taking fuente over chadwell

For reference:



Not terrible, made it to the Big 12 Title Game in year 2, but with the 247 composite level of talent at #5 nationally in a terrible year for the conference, they shouldn't have three losses.

They did beat UGA, thry came close to knocking off LSU last year too. He did take over a team coming off 3 straight losing seasons.

About Fuente. Maybe I'm wrong but ino TN is a better job then Va Tech. Imo if he could get the support Pruitt has he would do well here. He's a good offensive mind and if we gave him 1.5 I'm sure he could find a solid DC. Va Tech is a good program but im not sure it has the ceiling TN does when its at its peak.

A guaranteed amount that is Tiered low to Hugh isn't a bad idea.

Start at 2m and rise to 5-6m with a Tamu type guarantee to Jimbo. Gives him solice in his finances and gives UT a chance to recover theirs from the Rona.

Sure tenn is a better job but it’s easier to win 9-10 games there

Except for Switzer’s era and a few times under Stoops, the Longhorns have traditionally outranked the Sooners in recruiting rankings. Now what they do with the athletes after signing them is a different level.

Very true, and they should end up 7-3 this year. But even with all that, I can tell you that the Texas fanbase is as ready to get rid of him as Tennessee's fans are with Pruitt. Like I said, feels very similar to Butch's year four (2016), and the recruiting is falling off big time.
