My prediction:
Pruitt doesn’t get fired
They hire someone with head coaching experience to fill a staff position for the 2021 season. Probably Muschamp.
They fire Pruitt.
Muschamp is the interim head coach for the rest of the season. He wins a few and they make it permanent.

I may need to go to eat a snickers geez.

No

He took over as an interim for their 1st FBS season. They have only been FBS three seasons and they joined a pretty established conference with decent teams like Troy, GA So, and App St.

I like what he’s done but it isn’t sustained success. If he wins 8-10 games another year or two he wins me over but the lack of big boy football on the resume is glaring

Fuente is 63-48, has won a conference title at Memphis and a division title at Virginia Tech. He’s won two conference coach of the year awards.

I think I’d take him over Chadwell and Napier, but that’s just one man’s opinion.

I live in Memphis. He could develop HB. But he can’t recruit. He’s smart but doesn’t like the recruiting game and doesn’t have the personality. He benefitted some at Memphis with having some leftovers from Larry Porter (who was a good recruiter but awful coach). Norvell was a much better recruiter. I can’t imagine Justin Fuente taking a call from Jim Bob from Bucksnort on Vol Calls.

If you are going with coaches who are about to get fired you go with Herman 100 out of 100 times over Fuente.. he’s never had a losing record and can recruit circles around Fuente. Some of the posters just do not think highly of UT.

From what I’ve read, he’d certainly need help in that area. Having Tee and Jay Graham on staff would be a good start.

You are absolutely insane. Pruitts coach will cost us one or two games next year. Its already close 3 this year.
All about QB play brotha, with an average QB we beat Kentucky, Arkansas and possibly Auburn. Next years team will be more talented and should have at least average QB play from HB, Salter or a transfer.

Are you 100% JG isn't going to come back to screw the pooch?

Edit: Pruitt is responsible for putting JG in the crosshairs of fans. Don't hate the kid. His coach is asking him to do something he cannot do.

I just want to speak this semi-realistic coaching carousel into existence:
Pruitt and Fuente are fired from their prospective programs on the same day.
Todd Grantham is hired to replace Fuente (he’s a VT alum)
Fuente is hired at UT to replace Pruitt.
Pruitt is hired as Florida’s DC to replace Grantham.

I don’t want to tell you what this scenario does to UT’s recruiting, specifically on the defensive side.

Sark was very average as a head coach. It’s easy to look good with five star talent everywhere.

Washington was winless before Sark took over. It took him a while to get over the 7 win hump, but he did the year before USC hired him away. He never really took a step back there though. And he went on to win 9 in his lone full season at USC, while still feeling the effects of heavy sanctions.

Sark had a more than solid resume as OC and developing QB’s even before his stint at Bama.

He would not be my first choice, but we could do a lot worse.

That would be so Tennessee Vols.

Its on the coaching staff to have a QB ready, and its on the HC to trot out the best option. All 3 of those losses are on Pruitt for failure to get someone else ready, because we all know JG isn't good and couldn't get it done.

That would be terrible. Mullen and Pruitt would rule the East for a decade.
