Decisions will be made at a higher level. That's how UT is run.
We have absolutely zero idea if he'd be an upgrade. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't. Of course, since he's not here we convince ourselves that he would be.I’m happy with Napier. He’s energetic and offensive minded. He’s sustained at Louisiana and has coached with great coaches. He’s an absolute upgrade over Pruitt, and if Freeze never materializes as a realistic option, Napier is a solid option and someone that would take our job.
This is what very much concerns me about him. There are people other than us that know more about Hugh Freeze. Not saying he’s a bad candidate, but that’s just the truth.
Kind of like why people questioned why Gregg Marshall didn’t move up more quickly at Winthrop or maybe even at Wichita State. The truth finally came out.
Absolutely, positively 100%.I don't care if it's Pruitt. I don't care if it's Freeze. I don't care if it's Kiffin or Coach McGoogle. I don't cheer for the coach. I just want the Vols to be good again. That's all. Whoever can get us there, that's who I want. Wrap 'em up, put a bow on 'em, and call it a Christmas gift for all of VolNation.
Because it's in direct contradiction to the notion that Boyd is calling the shots now.Why does that not encourage me?
That's true of every name mentioned. Even Saban wouldn't be a guarantee at UT. A lot depends on how things behind the scenes are run, and I think that's part of our problem. We have absolutely zero idea if he'd be an upgrade. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't. Of course, since he's not here we convince ourselves that he would be.
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen so much smoke around something like this. It is almost hard for me to believe that there is problems higher up with hiring freeze, but I know that’s the truth. There’s always been power struggles between the top boosters. My guess is that all of this smoke is to continue putting more pressure on the administration to pull the plug on Pruitt.
