I don’t expect a decision publicly until after Christmas. I do believe he is done. Tennessee will try and fire him with cause but could reach a settlement if Pruitt is willing to move on. Tennessee will probably self impose a reduction on scholarships and a bowl ban. Pruitt has ticked off some university folks as well. Plowman and Manning have had a lot of dialogue along with others. Things can change in a hurry. I don’t know how soon Pruitt will return from Alabama. I know people will have a million questions but this is all I know and this is basically the opinion of someone I trust. A lot of moving parts here. It’s important you all understand that. Candidates haven’t really even been discussed in detail at this point.

Good year to implement a bowl ban as well, if we can get through investigation in time.

Apparently he expressed interest in the UT job in 2017. Could be an intriguing option - someone from the Petersen coaching tree.

There should be two selection committees after championship weekend. We pick the best 10 across the land for major bowl games and then hold another selection committee to pick out a national championship game. Forget the tournament and playoff “bracket.” Builds in some human element and gets us 5 cool bowl games.

I'm all in on Freeze, but if there's a positive with Napier I do like that he has experience as a QB coach. I would like to see our next coach have a history of good QB play. I feel like that's been a huge weakness for a long time. He could be a pretty good hire. I worry this is not the right place for him to win though. This job is tough and we need somebody that's done if before.

If Freeze wasn't available I would be more open to it. I think it will be a big mistake if we don't hire him.

I don’t disagree but the SEC is the same as the ACC this year.

Bama is the only elite team. FL and A&M and UGA can beat a lot of teams. None of them are elite.

Clemson is only elite team in ACC. ND and UNC and Miami can beat a lot of teams. None of them are elite.

SEC is overrated big time on here IMO. I'd say it is the best conference but not by near as much as people act.
