I get the P5 prerequisite but not a necessity for me though. Mandatory HC experience and a proven track record (over 3-5 yrs preferably) of developing players and winning games. Those talents and skills will translate to the next level IMO. Once they start winning, elite recruiting will follow.

Small conference to SEC is a whole other animal. Too many coaches have failed. Too many coaches can’t handle the pressure. We need stability so personally I’d take a high floor over an unproven coach with high potential

But the fact remains... That was the plan. Pay 22 million to get rid of one person, and that will fix the team. The 22 million dollar cancer. That's the guy y'all want us to scoop up. It's insane.

This sums it up perfectly. It would be the most vols move ever to hire a guy that an in-conference rival just paid $22MM to go away. Gus basically has Pruitt’s 2019 season every year. We might as well keep feeding the dumpster fire we have more fuel if that’s what you’re “upgrading” to. Aub has all the resources, facilities and recruiting talent needed to be a playoff contender every year. Not sure why anyone would expect him to do better here. Gus is spaghetti and meatballs. We need a choice cut.

Gus has a better Win% against teams that finish ranked than Freeze does. Freeze finished higher than 5th in the west twice in 5 seasons. Freeze finished ranked twice. Freeze is 2-3 vs Gus.

I’m really not sure how some of y’all act like Freeze is a God tier hire and instantly will be competing with bama but we shouldn’t even consider Gus and he’s a horrible hire. I could list more stats but those people probably won’t even finish reading it

Freeze had exciting offenses that beat teams he should not have. Would like to enjoy the offense for a while. Gus would be okay if he hires an OC that's exciting.

When Gus came onto the scene he had what was considered a revolutionary offense. Over the years his concepts have been adopted by everyone and defense have adjusted but he hasnt. HIs best coaching came early on at his time in Auburn and it's been all downhill from there.

If we didn't have the worst loss in the NFL this season we'd have it in the bag.....still can't believe we lost to the Jags.

I think the Titans and Colts will be playoff contenders for the next few seasons. Our defense is stout and young and we have a ton of cap.
