Swain is making some good points on firing Pruitt with cause. Thinks its potentially a bad look for interested coaches if you don't pay Pruitt on the way out.

Yeah, that really hurt Florida when they went and hired Mullen. This is just crap from agents who are trying to protect their leverage.

I thought the same about the bald guy.
I think our perception about Pruitt being this defensive savant is a little skewed. Is he a good defensive mind? Sure. But working with the talent at Georgia, Alabama, and what was then a very talented Florida State team inflated his reputation. Combine that with his terrible decisions on offense and here we are.

That’s a accurate breakdown of where we are. Are we stupid enough to give a year or smart enough to eat the money and walk.

If it drags on to next week we’re stupid.

We aren’t Florida and we don’t have a Dan Mullen just sitting there. We do have endless internal struggles that the whole college football world has seen for years though.

It's true that we're a train wreck, but I don't believe firing a coach for cause when you actually have cause hurts you with future coaches, especially when said coach has performed as poorly as Pruitt. And I'm not sure Pruitt has done himself any favors in coaching circles by firing an assistant mid-game.

Lol waiting a few days is drastically different than keeping him for another year.

And doing taxes isn’t the same thing as being fired.
If I didn’t do my job and get those taxes done, I would have been fired. That’s what I am saying.

Exactly, between that, the rumored bad temper and being a lame duck if he’s brought back, I don’t see him getting cream of the crop coaches to come here.
