The program has been hammered for the past 12 years what more can ncaa do that we haven’t already dealt with?

Yes, I believe he’s coached his last game. That’s just my opinion though. It sounds pretty messy behind the scenes so I doubt Fulmer survives either.

A very plausible scenario is Pruitt is fired and Fulmer, having lost the power struggle, retires at the end of the academic year. Just spitballing of course.

I’ve been following the Vols since the early 80s. I’ve been on this board for 13 years. I’m die hard, not a casual fan.
but, I think I’m there - ready to check out. Don’t really care. I’ve withstood the ups and downs but at some point you realize - this is no longer worth my time.
I’m an optimist and I hope for an exciting change, but I’m also about two seconds away from just turning it all off.

Amen. I have NEVER been at this point. Dating back to Bill Battle when I admittedly had no capability for vitriol (being in early elementary school and easily amazed by Condredge Holloway). If Pruitt returns, it won’t be permanent. I just won’t have any glimmer of hope that HE will get us going forward.

Wait through the holidays to not seem like an ass, work behind the scenes, fire him next week and officially start the search/name your guy with the new year. Gives plenty of time to close with recruiting and get things in place for Spring.

Isn’t it crazy how things change so quickly and drastically? Three years ago, this board despised Haslam’s (and other “higher ups”) influence on the program, wanted rid of an incompetent AD and then rejoiced at the hiring of Fulmer and then celebrated that Fulmer picked “his guy” who was a renowned coordinator and recruiter.

Now, the board wants the higher ups in control and wants Fulmer and Pruitt out.

Just an observation.

And if higher ups hire another Butch/Dooley/Pruitt then I’ll switch it again in 3 years. I’m riding w whoever I think gives us the best shot to win by hiring a good coach. Fulmer looks like a clown right now.

Also possible that Big Jim has moved aside a bit. I was always told that he was the one that wanted us to be like UVA.
