This is all just so bad.

Firing Pruitt will not guarantee a good future for UT football. Keeping Pruitt won’t either. This is a **** situation created by the dysfunctional leadership in the AD and boosters and it has no hope of getting any better.

Anybody questioning fandom of others at this point is borderline retarded. Those of us that are left even though there is no hope of it getting better are the true diehards.
Nailed it.

Ok I wouldn't argue your prediction. Here's the thing though. If you're going to keep CJP and fire/replace 3-5 assistants whats the difference if we bring in someone like Malzhan? Seriously asking not trying to poke.

To me at that point its a safer play. I understand its the more expensive play. But we've got the best in state recruits we had in a long time getting ready to commit to wherever they are going to go. Keeping CJP does nothing. It's like watering a garden after you drenched it with roundup. It's not like we will have a significant turn around in one year that it will make this job more attractive.

EDIT; As far as Napier, I'm pretty sure he turned it down because of staffing demands. Which I doubt we would have any. Mainly because if we fire CJP I would say most of the staff will be gone as well

I think Billy Napier makes a ton of sense here if we can get him to come. The more I learn about him, the more I think he might be the best case scenario.

His offense is nice. Physical, creative, explosive. I would love to see us run RPO's like that. Spread out and using surprising motions, formations and misdirection with ease. Keeping defenses on their toes. It's fun to watch. What a concept!

SEC roots. A Tennessee native. Could really be the type of guy that might be lightening in a bottle. Turned down Auburn. I love it.

I believe he makes around $900,000 per as well. He wouldn't have any staff restrictions here either.

Freeze-No-poison - No SEC school will
Hire him.
Malzhan-Seriously-why would he come here with his 20m plus buyout.
Napier-Turned down a better offer at Auburn.

The point I’m making is that based on information available as of now, Pruitt will be our coach in 2021.
I don’t like it anymore than you do. Bad spot we are in.
Malzahn is supposedly stubborn and that’s why he butted heads with Boosters and guys at auburn. If that’s true it’d make sense for him to wanna get a restart at an SEC school just as a last F you to auburn

I’m not done, but if Pruitt’s back then I’m most definitely downgrading to “casual fan” and not planning my saturdays around football any more. To be honest, I’ve basically done that already. I just post on here because I enjoy the running convo about football, bbq, and how absurd it is that anyone things Lebron is better then MJ.
Yup. After we lost to BYU last year apathy started to set in, stopped planning my Saturday around Tennessee. Missed a few games but for the most part still watched and rooted for the vols, hurt when we lost. Stopped following recruiting as closely as I did. ALL the hope and excitement came back leading up to the UGA game this year, Reached its peak at halftime. After that game I feel absolutely nothing when we lose and it’s sad and frustrating. I never thought the day would actually come. Pruitts back and it’ll be the same BS. Blown out vs any team with a pulse

Plus Auburn ain't better than Tennessee, If anything they're pretty much equal jobs. Both seem to have complete morons in charge running things lol

I just want to win again. I refuse to believe the administration and people running the show don’t care about winning at all that’s just illogical. But my gosh can they stop being stupid af and put us in position to be a winning program again. Keeping a lame duck coach a year too long does absolutely nothing. It sets it back so much further

I used to work with a guy that used to get rid of wild/feral cats that way. He would put them in a burlap sack, tie it off and throw them in the river... 😱

The administration has changed and entire coaching staffs as well as individual head coaches have changed. The only constant is that our boosters haven’t.

Like clockwork everytime.... VQ says something I don’t like... “those guys don’t know ****”.... every time they prove they know what is going on rather you want to hear it or not
Its not that. It's that they make you pay for very little groundbreaking info

I just cannot understand why they would even contemplate keeping him:

- allegedly difficult and not well liked
- allegations of infractions . some may be serious
- last 8 games 1-7 all double digit losses (Whoopie on the Vandy high win)
- in game adjustments non existent
- once again asking to replace assistants
- player development non existent
- covid excuse is lame. every program had challenges
- lacks the temperament to be HC. who fires coaches mid game?

If they retain him they are truly dumb. The above issues will not be resolved by a fresh batch of assistants with multiple year contracts.
